Trendy looking anti-ISA badges, stickers and T-shirts appear to be high on the police wanted list.A short prayer ceremony to mark the Internal Security Act (ISA) detention of five Hindraf leaders two years ago was marred by the arrest of one of the movement's key leaders S Jayathas whose was wearing an anti-ISA button badge.
A uniformed police officer grabbed Jayathas as he was leaving leaving a Hindu temple in Bangsar Utama where the prayers were held. He said the arrest was because Jayathas had sported the button badge.Though Jayathas offered no resistance, he repeatedly asked the surrounding police personnel if the badge was illegal, but this was met with silence.
Why police has nothing better to do than to catch civilians wearing badges? If it's not illegal, than it's not a crime. When is police going to catch the snatch thieves that are roaming on the streets so freely?
