Zambry Hopes For An End To Crisis In Perak

LONDON, Dec 13 (Bernama) -- Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir hopes that all the parties involved in the constitutional crisis in the state will look into developing its economy rather than continuing to harp on the same issues.
He said there was a need to restructure the state's economy and bring back Perak's glorious economic status.
Many Perakians felt that the politicans should not raise the issues any more, and "we must be looking very hard to correct the past if we want to correct the perception," he told Malaysian students in the United Kingdom in a meeting at King's College here Saturday.
"At the end of the day, people judge you (politicians) on what you are and what your vision is. It's about bringing new politics, and about change.
" Politics is about looking at the people so that people can live peacefully. We should go ahead with economic development. Cannot too much on politics," he said.
Most of the questions raise by the students were on the Perak constitutional crisis, and they wanted to know what really transpired in February when the Barisan Nasional came back to power with a simple majority.
The BN regained control of the state after three assemblymen from Parti Keadilan Rakyat and DAP declared themselves independent and supported the BN, while a former Umno state assemblyman, who jumped ship to join PKR, rejoined Umno.
Zambry said that the people were now beginning to look at what he and the new state government had done in Perak.

Hopefully, the students are smart enough to not listen to Zambry's story only. After all, didn't Tun Mahathir also say Perak grab unlawful?
