Umno parti paling biadap. Caci demi Allah & Rasul?

"Tiba-tiba mereka batalkan perarakan Maulidul Rasul. Surat rasmi kita ada. Dia memusuhi Melayu dan Islam secara terbuka. Rasis.

"Siapa saja, Melayu, Cina, India yang menyokong DAP, depa mereka daripada bangsa bangsat (perwakilan tepuk). Saya ulang sekali lagi, DAP adalah bangsa bangsat. mampuih pi depa nak kata apa, katalah. Saya bercakap demi Allah dan Rasul," katanya.

P1 4G: Reach your monthly quota, snail-speed surf!

Happened to ride on someone's P1 and this is the what I got:

Obviously, I modified the message.
It should really read, '...your P1 4G speeds have been GREATLY reduced.'

Even my RM66 Streamyx home package is much more reliable than this P1 4G package and its speeds have been fairly consistently 'fast'. ;)

So much for fast-but-capped-speeds broadband package!

Umno out to make Malaysia a utopia for Umnoputra

Muhyiddin: DAP out to make M'sia a republic
The Umno general assembly kicked off with Muhyiddin Yassin launching a blistering attack against Pakatan Rakyat, accusing everything they do to be against Malay interests.

Muhyiddin started off with accusing the party DAP of attempting to form a republic in his speech at the officiation of the youth, wanita and puteri wings.

He said this would set aside Malaysia as a country based on the sovereignty of the Malay rulers and Islam as its religion.

Oh, really? The ugly truth is Umno is only for Umnoputras.

Muhyiddin is not Malay first but Umno-Malay first.

Si jelita tauke restoran. Ibunya, Shahrizat, KULI dia!

EKSTRA!

'Menjadi pelayan bukan senang kerana macam-macam kerenah pelanggan,' kata Cik Izzana.

Holy cow! Shahrizat's family nothing to do with her!

Now NFC stands for No Family Connection as far as Shahrizat is concerned.

But how is it that NFC has nothing to do with her when she is obviously related to her husband who is the owner of NFC?

Not forgetting that her son, Izran Salleh, is (or was?) the CEO of NFC and her daughter, Wan Izzana Salleh, is (or was?) the CEO of Real Food Company Sdn Bhd.

Umno proven unable to reform, wants to win GE13?

November 28, 2011

If only Umno had been sincere and reformed much earlier, it wouldn't want to win the next GE because it would certainly win.

But then again, the rakyat knows that Umno wants to win GE, not because it wants to reform. Rather, it wants to take up the reins of government and continue its reign of terror! If that happens, the rakyat's freedom is over!

Peaceful assembly without Peaceful Assembly Bill!

Approximately 400 people gathered at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) Park this afternoon to protest against the Peaceful Assembly Bill, with police keeping watch from across the fountain without interfering while about ten park security personnel roved the periphery of the lively crowd and a man identifying himself as a security supervisor disrupted any attempts at speeches, slogans and press conferences.

malaysian can walk klcc 261111 03In response to the supervisor’s interruptions, Wong Chin Huat (right, in yellow), who is one of three organisers, cheekily dispersed the gathering into "private gatherings", and referred to the 2pm event as a picnic rather than a protest.

Speaking to reporters at the scene, Wong said the point was to illustrate that public assemblies are banal, everyday occurrences and asked, "Why the moment you think about the country, it becomes illegal? What's wrong with being patriotic?"
Another organiser Maria Chin Abdullah said that it was not enough to amend the bill but that it should be dropped completely when asked about the cabinet's announcement today that the bill would be reviewed.

Raja Zarith Idris: Akidah diperkukuh masa bergereja

Thanks to zorro-unmasked, I got to know about the Sunday Star columnist, Raja Zarith Idris and her column called 'Mind Matters'.

She wrote an article entitled 'Season of goodwill' today.

I reproduce a para from her article verbatim:
When I was at boarding school in England, I had to go to church every Sunday because it was part of the rules. My father advised me to consider it as part of my “education” and he had no doubt that the experience would strengthen rather than weaken my own faith.

Opposition cause of poor racial ties, says Chua

Is Chua really so concerned for the thousands of non-Muslims who will lose their jobs if Genting Highlands resort is shut down?

Is Chua not concerned for the many families who are going through hell because their family member is a compulsive gambler? There are many stories of suicides told and untold due to loses in gambling. Which is worse - to lose a job or to lose a life? Chua, you are a pretty pathetic porn star!

Yoo are another Umno dog, cannot fight for Chinese

MCA Youth Vice Chairman Yoo Wei How has slammed DAP and PKR as racist parties.

yoo wei howYoo (left) said after the challenge by PKR Youth Chief Shamsul Iskandar Md Akin to Umno to amend the federal constitution to ensure that only Malays can hold the position of Prime Minister, DAP Youth Chairman Anthony Loke Siew Fook then accused Shamsul of being a racist.

In a statement today, Yoo said, "This rebuttal of his is similar to seeing the faults in others but not in himself, because Loke is blind to the fact that his party is also racist.  It was a joke that PKR and DAP constantly portray themselves as multi-racial parties, as it was evident that both parties were still very much operating based on race. This is obvious when PKR said that Anwar would be the prime minister and Lim Kit Siang as the deputy prime minister. This in itself already shows their racism as both parties take into consideration the race of the people holding these the top two positions."

The fact is Yoo is another third class citizen like any other Malaysian Chinese but much worse, he is a dog serving its master Umno.

At least, Pakatan promises a Chinese as the DPM but can BN do it?

Obviously, Shamsul's challenge to Umno has been gravely misunderstood by many, sad to say, even those in the Pakatan.

Responding to a media report on PKR Youth chief Shamsul Iskandar Md Akin's policy speech on the matter of changing the constitutional to guarantee a Malay PM, Anwar said that Shamsul had merely posed a challenge to Umno.

Anwar said, "It is not the stand of the youth wing, PKR or Pakatan. Because Umno keeps talking about Malays, so (Shamsul Iskandar) challenges Umno if they are willing, but his stand is Malaysia is tied to the present constitution and the principles of fairness and justice."

PRU13 ibu segala pilihan raya. Umno hilang kuasa?

November 26, 2011

DPM painted a grim picture of the future of Umno:

So good. Police gives free protection to PKR events

Malaysiakini's visit to a ceramah in Gelang Patah last night, attended by a crowd of about 200, found heavy police presence where at least 50 uniformed personnel were seen at the scene, backed up with two police trucks and there was also a checkpoint mounted on the road leading to the PKR branch office in front of which the event was held, featuring Anwar, Johor chief Dr Chua Jui Meng and UIA professor Abdul Aziz Bari.
pkr congress 2011 261111 wan azizah anwar
However, no untoward incident was reported there or in any of the events scattered throughout Johor Selatan and it is learnt that all six events were heavily guarded by police, but the speakers were not stopped.

When met, deputy president Azmin said there were no incidents, but the fact that there was heavy police presence was as if they wanted to scare people from coming and added that Chua will be submitting a report to Johor police chief Mokhtar Mohd Shariff over the permits which were already granted but revoked at the last minute.

Mokhtar yesterday told Malaysiakini that the police had only rejected one application for “security reasons” and urged PKR to lodge a police report on the permits which were revoked.

Read Raja Petra's 'You first have to know the meaning of the word'. In that article, there's an addendum entitled 'Killing the Kelantanese with no water'.

I post the addendum verbatim:
When the Anwar Ibrahim poisoning crisis erupted late last year, Mahathir pooh-poohed the whole matter by saying that Malays do not murder for political ends.
Not quite true!
Samad Goal was murdered in Kota Bharu - head split open with an axe. The "old timers" tell me, while he was giving a speech during a political rally. Dato Tahar was murdered - I was told, shot all over his body. Some people tell me Dr Burhanuddin Hilmi was poisoned. And those are only the ones I know about. And they were all murdered for political reasons.
Yes, Malays DO murder for political ends.
Is Mahathir now killing off the Kelantanese, his political rivals, by denying them water?
This is what Mahathir said recently, "However, the Kelantan government could not even ensure clean water for its people. When you turn on the tap, you get coffee instead''.
To Mahathir it is all a big joke - something to laugh about. The Kelantan opposition government cannot even provide clean water for its people. Mahathir thinks it is so funny.
Mahathir added that the Kelantan State government was seeking help from the Federal Government to overcome its water woes. "They are asking for 600 million Ringgit from us. If we have that kind of money, we will put it to good use".
Yes, that's right. If the Federal Government had 600 million Ringgit they would put it to good use. They would not give it to the Kelantan State government to provide water to its 1,500,000 people. That is not good use for the money.
600 million Ringgit can build an F1 racetrack. Foreigners can use the track to enjoy themselves. 600 million Ringgit can also build a beautiful tower in the middle of Kuala Lumpur. That is better use for the money. Water for 1,500,000 people in Kelantan is definitely NOT good use.
Kelantan has been facing a water shortage problem for the last 20 or 30 years - long before the opposition took over the State. In 1990, the state fell to the opposition. The Federal Government then suddenly decided to cancel the plan to spend 600 million Ringgit to improve the water supply in the State.
The members of the Kelantan Branch of the Housing Developers Association met the Minister-in-Charge of the State, Anwar Musa, to discuss the water problem with him. These developers could not hand over their houses to their buyers as there was no water supply and they were losing money because of it.
Anwar Musa told the developers, if they wanted water, they would have to vote in the Barisan Nasional the next general election. As long as the State was under the opposition they would get no water.
Then the Federal Government announced they were giving Kelantan State the 600 million Ringgit they required. There was much rejoicing. Kelantan, at last, would be getting water.
Then, when everyone's hopes were high, the Federal Government announced they would not, after all, give the State the money. All hopes were dashed.
Then it was announced the State would be given the money, but the Federal government would control it and decide how it is used. Then they said the State would not get the money.
This is a cruel game to play on 1,500,000 people who have not seen clean water for two generations. You build up their hopes, then you dash it again, just to see the smiles on their faces get wiped off.
Today, Kelantan is suffering from a Cholera outbreak. Mahathir is a medical man. He knows how and why Cholera is spread.
Does Mahathir announce the water embargo on Kelantan is off? Does Mahathir now give them the 600 million Ringgit promised and un-promised so many times?
No! Instead, TV3 parades people before their cameras to show them condemning the Kelantan Government for not being able to overcome the State water woes.
The water woes were there long before the opposition took over the State. It is not the opposition government's fault. They inherited the problem when they took over a State that already had no water.
This is a cruel game to play on the people of Kelantan. It is not funny, and Mahathir should wipe that smirk of his face. People are dying in Kelantan. And it's all because they have no water. And they have no water because the Federal Government is trying to bring the State to its knees.
Was it not Mahathir who condemned the US for its embargo on Iraq? Was it not Mahathir who said the embargo is causing the deaths of thousands of innocent children? Was it not Mahathir who called the Americans murderers for doing this?
Does Mahathir not see he is now killing innocent Kelantanese by denying them water? Is Mahathir so sure those dead from Cholera voted for the opposition? What if they did not? What if they did not vote at all? What if they are children and babies who are not even voters yet?
Mahathir, are you not a Malay? Are not the Kelantanese Malays? Did you not say Malays do not murder for political ends?
Mahathir, stop killing off innocent children and babies! Stop the Cholera epidemic in Kelantan! Give Kelantan the water they need! Give them the water they have been waiting generations for.
Most importantly of all, Mahathir, stop gloating. Wipe that smirk off your face. It is not as funny as you think. Denying the Kelantan people water does not prove how incapable the opposition is in running the State. It just proves you would gladly resort to murdering innocent babies just to defeat a political rival.
May God have mercy on you, Mahathir, for all those deaths in Kelantan!

Only Malays as PM?! We had Mamak Dr M as PM!

SPRM Serbu. Sarbani MATI. Kutipan kastam NAIK!

November 24, 2011
KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 24 — Revenue from customs rose dramatically after a high-profile raid on the Customs Department earlier this year by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), the Special Committee on Anti-Corruption said today.
“We’ve been informed by the MACC that customs collection has gone up sharply since its operation against the Customs Department,” committee member Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan told reporters in the Parliament lobby.
The Kota Belud MP, however, did not provide any figures.
He added that the Customs raid was an example of how money spent on the MACC would bring “far greater” returns to government coffers by curbing abuse of power and eliminating leakages.
Earlier today, the committee briefed the prime minister on the recommendations outlined in its annual report, including a request for more funding and manpower.
Abdul Rahman (picture) said the panel had also suggested improvements to security at the anti-graft agency’s offices after two witnesses died on MACC premises in as many years.
They include Ahmad Sarbaini Mohamad, a senior Customs officer who fell to his death at MACC’s Kuala Lumpur office in April.
Assistant director Sarbaini was a witness in the high-profile raid on the Customs Department carried out a month before by MACC.
A coroner’s inquest later ruled his death an accident, after ruling out suicide and foul play.
The verdict was rejected by Sarbaini’s family, who have called on Putrajaya to establish a Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) into his death.

New assembly law 'revolutionarily' repressive, Najib!

UPDATED @ 03:46:30 PM 24-11-2011
November 24, 2011

Demonstrations such as the July 9 Bersih 2.0 rally are expressly forbidden by the proposed assembly law. — File pic
KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 24 — Rubbishing accusations that the Peaceful Assembly Bill was repressive, Datuk Seri Najib Razak today instead declared it a “revolutionary” law and a “giant leap” towards improving individual freedom.
The prime minister pointed out to opposition lawmakers in Parliament that under the new legislation, the powers of the police would be capped and punitive action against protestors reduced to only fines instead of jail sentences.
“We aware, however, that no matter how noble the government’s intentions are, the opposition has already objected to the law.
“Supposedly, it chokes freedom to assemble. Is this allegation true? The answer: Not true at all,” he said when tabling a motion to lift three Emergency declarations today.
Najib reminded Pakatan Rakyat (PR) representatives that provisions under the Bill prohibit the police from blocking any peaceful assembly from taking place.
He said protestors would merely be barred from holding gatherings at areas gazetted as prohibited zones under the law, such as hospitals, schools and places of worship.
He added that should any assembly required the provision of notice to the authorities, as stipulated under section 9(1) of the Bill, a reasonable timeframe would be given to the authorities to respond.
“And if the response is not given within this timeframe, the assembly can proceed under the protection of the law,” he said.
“It proves that based on these abovementioned principles, the opposition’s allegations are totally untrue.
“It is clear that this law is revolutionary in nature and a giant leap in terms of improving on current laws,” Najib said.
The prime minister, smiling at the occasional chatter from the MPs in the House, added that the government was committed to Article 10 of the Federal Constitution which states that every citizen has the right to assemble peacefully without the use of weapons.
However, he said, it was also the government’s “constitutional responsibility” to ensure that national security and public peace continues to be protected.
“We must understand that in this respect, we are looking not only on the right to assembly but also the rights of those who want freedom and peace to continue with their lives,” he said.
Opposition lawmakers and civil society groups have objected to the Peaceful Assembly Bill, tabled in the House on Tuesday, claiming it was more repressive than previous laws on public assembly, and that it simply meant “people could not gather anywhere in Malaysia.”
PR de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said yesterday that opposition MPs will oppose the Bill during debates in the House.
Section 27 of the Bill states that public gatherings cannot be held in the following areas: petrol stations, hospitals, fire stations, airports, railways, land public transport terminals, ports, canals, docks, bridges, places of worship, kindergartens and schools as well as dams and reservoirs.
It states that no street protests are allowed, and bars any assembly in or within a 50-metre buffer zone around the listed prohibited areas.
Section 9 (5) of the Bill allows the police to fine organisers up to RM10,000 if no advance notice of a planned assembly is given to the authorities.
Section 20 (1) (c) allows for police to arrest anyone who brings or recruits children in an assembly.
Section 21 (3) allows protesters arrested by police to be fined up to RM20,000.
The new law says that there also must be 30 days’ advance notice for assemblies except for designated areas defined by the home minister. The assemblies can then proceed unless there is objection by the police.
Simultaneous assemblies may be held, but this is subject to the discretion of the police. If a “counter assembly” should cause potential conflict with another assembly nearby, police have the right to name an alternative location and time for the counter assembly to be held.
Individuals under 21 years of age not allowed to organise assemblies and children under 15 are not allowed to participate in assemblies except for cultural and religious ones like funeral corteges or events approved by the home minister.
The prime minister promised a raft of reforms in his Malaysia Day address on September 15, including the repeal of the controversial Internal Security Act (ISA) and doing away with annual permits for the print media, saying he wanted to give Malaysians more freedom.

How Umno does business: Grab $ first, sign later! ;)

The National Feedlot Corporation (NFC) was able to withdraw its RM250 million soft loan from the government even before a contract with the government was signed.

NONEPublic Accounts Committee (PAC) chairperson Azmi Khalid (right) revealed this after the committee interviewed several Agriculture and Agro-based Industries Ministry officers today and said that other problems with the NFC uncovered by the PAC were poor management, delays in approval and changes in goals.

Azmi told reporters, “In this case, the money was disbursed in 2009  into a special account which needs the (relevant) ministry’s approval, to be withdrawn for the company’s operations. But only after the money was disbursed (in 2009) was the contract signed a year later in 2010.”

'Lebih korup, lebih jahil' jika Umno dan PAS bersatu

November 23, 2011

Yet again, one day after Marina Mahathir talked about idiotic politicians, Muhyiddin surfaced with another 'stupid' suggestion.

Which is more important - to unite Malaysians irrespective of race and religion or each race to unite against another race?

Well, that's what race-based BN has been doing and is good at doing - continually divide the nation along racial line.

Just three days ago, Mahathir said Umno must befriend Perkasa. Why? So that Umno-led BN will continue to rule.

The endgame, as always, is one that will lead Umno-led BN to victory.

Who will be the ultimate losers? The rakyat.

Tolak Seksualiti Merdeka atau Free Seks, ujar Dr M

I post the last para of Dr M's latest blog post verbatim:

Not surprisingly, the title of the blog post is 'SEKSUALITI MERDEKA'.

Did Marina Mahathir reach her tipping point over her own father's unkind remark?

Was she referring to her own father when she talked about idiotic politicians in an article featured in The Star today?

Well, just head over to The Star and read 'Vying for dubious achievements'.

BERSIH Saksi: Gas pemedih ditembak ke hospital!

NONEYap Jee Kit (left), a witness testifying at the Suhakam public inquiry on the July 9 Bersih 2.0 rally asserted today that police fired teargas into the  Chinese Maternity Hospital, in addition to using water cannon at the entrance to the Tung Shin Hospital.

Yap who works as an aide to Selangor executive councillor Elizabeth Wong, also said he was physically assaulted and verbally abused by the police when he was arrested.

Yap had walked from Brickfields to Menara Maybank about noon on July 9, wearing the yellow Bersih 2.0 T-shirt when he also saw PKR’s Subang MP Sivarasa Rasiah being arrested, as Sivarasa was negotiating on behalf of the more than 5,000 people making up the crowd so they could move past the police blockade.

Yap said, "There were many policemen there that day, with Federal Reserve Unit (FRU) members. We were just gathering there shouting slogans when police gave warnings and fired teargas and water cannons along Jalan Pudu. Sivarasa and several other politicians tried to negotiate with the police to allow the crowd to move, but he was arrested."

Malaysia has an asshole Umno-led BN government!

HAHAHAHAHA
Really had a good laugh reading Raja Petra's latest posting, 'Making sense of nonsense'.
So, YB, are you going to now issue a statement saying that you made an error and that only anal and oral sex are crimes whereas gay relationships are not a crime according to Malaysian law? And if people live together as gay couples and only kiss, hug, touch, rub against each other, masturbate each other, but as long as there is no anal or oral sex, then the government can’t do anything about it?

Najib the pseudo reformist, far from best democracy

November 22, 2011
KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 22 – Bersih 2.0 chief Datuk Ambiga Sreenevasan slammed today the proposed new law on peaceful assembly for giving greater powers to the home minister and the police to curb dissent and undermine the Federal Constitution.
In a statement today, the prominent lawyer accused the government of failing to keep up with international standards and creating instead the illusion that Malaysians now have greater freedom as provided by the country’s supreme law.
“This Bill restricts our rights as much as possible.  It gives unfettered powers to the minister and the police to further restrict the freedom to assemble.  It impinges on free speech.  In short, it will stymie legitimate dissent in ourcountry,” Ambiga (picture) charged.
“Furthermore freedom of assembly includes peaceful street protests. By excluding this as a right altogether the Federal Constitution is once again undermined,” she said.
Ambiga moved to punch holes in the Peaceful Assembly Bill tabled this morning, saying it was worse than the existing and unconstitutional section 27 of the Police Act 1967 it was to replace.
“This right is one of the most basic and indispensable of the fundamental freedoms necessary for the functioning of a democratic society and is provided for in the Federal Constitution,” she said and cited from a 2004 Royal Commission on the Police led by former Chief Justice Tun Mohammed Dzaiddin Abdullah to prove her point.
The vocal human rights activist urged the government to immediately withdraw the proposed law if it was sincere to prove correct Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s reformist stand on making Malaysia the “best democracy”.
The prime minister promised a raft of reforms in his Malaysia Day address on September 15, including the repeal of the controversial Internal Security Act (ISA) and doing away with annual permits for the print media, saying he wanted to give Malaysians more freedom.
The former Malaysian Bar president cautioned that voters will be watching the MPs to see who supported the proposed law in the run-up to the 13th general election, widely expected to be called early next year.
But the Bar Council’s current constitutional law committee chief, Syahredzan Johan, took a slightly different stance.
The younger lawyer told The Malaysian Insider that while he had grave misgivings about the government’s prohibition of “street protests” and its definition, he regarded the new law as a “step up” compared to section 27 of the Police Act.
“Section 27 is very oppressive. Anything that loses that is a step forward, with caveats,” he said.
“To me it’s still a step forward because you don’t need a permit from the police anymore. Now they can’t stop you from assembling but we should push forward for the weaknesses to be rectified,” he added.
Pakatan Rakyat MPs in Parliament today castigated the government for presenting a more “repressive” law despite being globally panned after it resorted to tough police measures to clamp down on dissent.
In a city lockdown last July 9 during the Bersih 2.0 rally, police had shot chemical-laced water cannons and tear gas into thousands of street demonstrators demanding for cleaner elections.
The organisers estimated 50,000 people turned out for the rally, but official figures put the figures closer to 6,000 with nearly 1,600 arrested.

Umno government transforms to be more repressive

National Human Rights Society president Malik Imtiaz Sarwar described the Peaceful Assembly Bill 2011 tabled today in parliament as even more repressive than before and offends the federal constitution.

dap islamic state roundtable 100807 malik imtiazMalik (left), a constitutional lawyer who represented the four Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia students’ against section 15 (1) (a) of the Universities and University Colleges Act, said this was what he had gathered from media reports and told Malaysiakini in an immediate response on his views of the Bill, “It appears that the framework is even more repressive than before. The scheme of regulation is not consistent with the prime minister’s promise of democratisation. Freedom of assembly is a constitutionality guaranteed right. Restrictions on that freedom must be reasonable and necessary. They must be proportional to the threat to public order that is sought to be avoided. How this bill is reasonable and proportionate is beyond me.”

Share price rose to 11-year high. Nazifuddin resigns

Nazifuddin Najib has resigned as a director of Harvest Court Industries Bhd, after a few tumultuous weeks of the company catapaulting from a little known timber firm to Bursa Saham’s top performer when reports emerged that the son of the prime minister had come on board.

NONEIn an announcement on the Bursa website today, Nazifuddin, 28, was reported to have resigned as non-executive director as part of Harvest Court’s ‘change in boardroom and still has 3,982,000 ordinary shares in the company, or about 1.7 percent of the total shares. Since it was first reported that the company’s share price rose to an 11-year high following his appointment to the board of directors last month, Nazifuddin and Harvest Court have been at the centre of much buzz.

The share price hit RM2.14 last week, which was 2,575 percent more than the 8sen registered in October and earlier today, it was reported that Harvest Court shares continued to climb to RM1.56, with 1.1 million shares transacted, making it one of the top gainers after it slid the past two days.

Kalau BN 100% pro-Rakyat, usah lawan Pakatan! ;)

November 20, 2011
Najib is getting more desperate. Now, he has 'online defence' against the opposition but if he only knew, the opposition is really, the rakyat.

If only Najib had, first of all, combat corruption within Umno, BN would have won the heart of the rakyat. After all, Dr M wrote in his blog post:
1. Pilihanraya Umum ke-13 hanya dua tahun lagi. Saya sedang meneliti reaksi rakyat terhadap UMNO dibawah pimpinan baru. Saya terkejut. Saya terkejut kerana seorang bekas pemimpin UMNO yang kanan telah meluahkan perasaannya dengan berkata “UMNO is rotten to the core” (UMNO busuk hingga ke ususnya).

Kementerian pertahanan KORUP, tentera sengsara!

Several former military personnel, who claimed to have spent decades in the force, today shared stories of how corruption within the Defence Ministry had left soldiers hanging out to dry.

According to one man who spoke to Malaysiakini on the sidelines of a forum of corruption in the defence industry, irregular practices had left soldiers with amputated legs, with many now “suffering in silence”.

The man who refused to be named for fear of retribution, also said that civilian personnel had thrown their military recommendations aside to purchase sub-par equipment which put lives at stake.

azlanReferring to an unnamed operation, he said, “We bought the AK 33 machine gun which jammed up after three rounds, so much so that soldiers were throwing their weapons to the ground and charging with parangs.”

In another instance in the 1970s, he said, soldiers suffered infections which led to amputations when their boots - which were supposed to protect their feet from spikes in booby traps in jungle warfare as they trudged through the rainforest - failed to do so as they rusted and became “a block of rust”.

The boots rusted because zinc plating was used instead of aluminium.

“In another instance, ponchos were of such bad quality that they left soldiers soaking. I was in the jungle crying in the cold because someone had made money somewhere,” he said at the Transparency International event in Subang.

The man alleged that bad quality food was supplied to the personnel and officers who rejected the food for their staff would be posted elsewhere as punishment.

“They don’t care. I believe it still continues. It is the soldiers who suffer,” the man said.

DPM: Assistance fund balance must be returned

Posted on November 19, 2011, Saturday

KUALA LUMPUR: Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has instructed schools to return any balance from the RM100 school assistance fund back to the government if the money is not claimed by parents on behalf of students.
Parents have a choice as to whether they want to accept the assistance or wish to contribute it to the school, he said.
However, parents must claim the money first before they decide to make it a contribution, said Muhyiddin, who is also Education Minister.
“It’s all right if parents say they don’t need the assistance and so on. We have instructed the schools to return any balance to the ministry and it will be put back into government funds, as it is government money,” he said after the launch of Unesco Day here, yesterday.

Oh, duh. Of course, what is rightfully the rakyat's must be returned to the 'trustee' that is the government but is the government 100% trustworthy?
Why would some parents not need the aid? I wonder.
Yesterday, a customer called me and requested for her problem be resolved before she left work at 4 PM. I asked the customer why the urgency. She explained that she needed to go to her daughter's school to collect the RM100 and buy her daughter a bag using that money.
'Wah, the government so good...,' I said sarcastically.

'Yeah...and it's our money. I pay taxes,' she said matter-of-factly.

NOV 18 — Those whom the gods wish to destroy, they first make mad. So goes the ancient phrase that has, throughout the millennia, remained an appropriate and relevant dictum to this very day.

The systemic trait of madness has been an inherent hallmark of declining autocratic regimes since time immemorial. Take, for example, the story of the Roman emperor Caligula, whose reign began with much promise and great popularity, but who quickly succumbed to the luxuries of power and who, towards the end of his short-lived rule, attempted to appoint his favourite horse as a consul of the Roman Senate.

And then of course there is the late totalitarian President Saparmurat Niyazov of Turkmenistan who, apart from styling himself Turkmenbashi (Leader of Turkmens), also deigned to rename calendar months after members of his own family, in addition to outlawing long hair and beards for Turkmen men and advising the citizenry to gnaw on bones in order to strengthen their teeth, because apparently it works for dogs.

History is rife with more examples of self-aggrandising eccentricities and excesses by leaders inebriated by power. Of the African and Middle Eastern variety, we have colourful characters such as the tyrannical Ugandan President Idi Amin, who insisted on being called the King of Scotland and Conqueror of the British Empire, and of course the recently-deceased erratic demagogue Colonel Muammar Gaddafi and his coterie of 40 virgin Amazon bodyguards.

Closer to home, who can forget the epitome of public extravagance, Imelda Marcos? The Filipino Iron Butterfly was the pillar supporting her husband’s iron-fisted rule, while making headlines for her multi-million dollar shopping sprees and famed collection of 2,700 pairs of shoes.

The lesson to bear in mind, however, is the fact that every single one of the above megalomaniacal regimes eventually found themselves pulled, almost willingly, into an inescapable whirlpool of self-destruction. Truly, delusion and egomania are signs of a waning regime.

In our own country, 54 years of single-party incumbency is now unravelling and showing similar symptoms. After many failed attempts, a scheme to construct a monolithic dam in Bakun, Sarawak was put into motion, with the outlandish idea of sending hydroelectricity to the peninsula via 670 kilometres of undersea cables.

A decade later, after billions of ringgit in cost overruns and the successful displacement of 10,000 indigenous people, we have a spectacular white mammoth (an elephant in this case an unbefitting term) that can produce 2,400 MW of electricity for a state that would be hard-pressed to consume even half that amount.

At the very least, the untenable idea of sending electricity through cables on the seabed has been safely buried, along with a crooked bridge that an infamous prime minister wanted to build halfway to Singapore. Remember that one?

Another rampant scam involving public funds is the Port Klang Free Zone fiasco, where at least RM12.5 billion of public funds has been squandered in an elaborate scheme that involves a trail of prominent characters leading all the way to the federal Cabinet. False claims, payments for imaginary works and ministerial “support letters” are all part of the unfolding drama.

Daylight robbery in this country is also often accompanied by grandiose acts of personal extravagance, such as a late Selangor state assemblyman who (illegally) built a 16-bedroom palatial mansion in the midst of a low-income working-class neighbourhood, complete with a tower that loomed condescendingly over his fiefdom.

But he was really only trying to emulate his boss the former mentri besar who, besides constructing an even larger palace, also spent millions of state funds on purported “study trips” to Europe, Hawaii and Disneyland with his family.

With the very public exposure of such brazen acts of abuse of power and shameless showboating of ill-gotten wealth, one would think that there would at least be an attempt to exercise more caution and stealth. But of course, madness is necessarily irrational.

And so we come to the latest mind-boggling scandal, in which public money in the form of a RM250 million soft loan and a large expanse of state land have been directly awarded to a Cabinet minister’s family for the purpose of developing a mega cattle-rearing project.

Lurid details emerging from this scandal are shocking to say the least. Not only has the Auditor-General’s Report exposed the failure of the company to achieve its targets and, at the very least, to upkeep its land and facilities, it now appears that money has instead been used to purchase a premium condominium in the city.

Allegations also abound of numerous personal transactions and even family holidays at the company’s expense. Indeed, the term “family business” in this case also takes on a wholly literal meaning, with the minister’s husband sitting as chairman, her eldest son as CEO and the rest of her kids as executive directors.
Yet the issue at hand is not so much the gross mishandling of public funds, which is standard fare, but the blatant manner in which it has been carried out and the unabashed audacity of the minister’s response, having been quoted as saying that her family “deserves it because they work very hard.”

The wanton madness of power is now taking its course on the rulers of our country. Purchasing luxury condos with money meant for cattle may not quite compare to appointing a horse to the Senate, but the symptoms are veritably obvious.

In Barisan Nasional’s mad, mad world, it would seem that the end is nigh.

My comment:
In the book of Daniel, the story of King Nebuchadnezzar best depicts the ancient phrase Those whom the gods wish to destroy, they first make mad.

In Daniel 4:33, the Bible says:
"That same hour the judgment was fulfilled, and Nebuchadnezzar was driven from human society. He ate grass like a cow, and he was drenched with the dew of heaven. He lived this way until his hair was as long as eagles' feathers and his nails were like birds' claws.

Scary.

Eat n' Run @ Tropicana City Mall: Good fast food! ;)

Three Fridays ago, I was standing nearby 7-Eleven outside Tropicana City Mall.

I was hungry and in a hurry. Must take my dinner. 'What to eat? Must have rice...' I thought to myself.

*Ting* Suddenly, the eatery 'Eat N' Run' came to my mind. 'Yes, I'll go for that,' I told myself.

Immediately, I walked into the mall, passed by Bad Ass Coffee on my right and took the escalator down to the lower ground floor.

Went to the counter and chose my 'Eat 'N Run' meal that came with:
1. Fish Fillet
2. Butter Rice
3.Mushroom
4. Scrambled Eggs with Baked Beans

After that, selected an add-on drink, Nestle Iced Honey Green Tea.

Within minutes, my food came!

Quickly, I tucked in and paid the bill. The meal cost RM8.90 and the add-on drink only cost me RM1.00 - certainly, a value-for-money meal!

100-year-old Fauja Singh, world's oldest marathoner

100-year-old Fauja Singh sets world record: Oldest runner to complete a marathon

fauja_singh_finish.jpgSometimes we need a mantra to press forward through the marathon agony.
If you're looking for one, may I suggest you repeat the words "Fauja Singh. Fauja Singh," the name of a 100-year-old man who on Sunday became the world's oldest runner to complete a marathon.
October has already yielded some amazing feats in running: a woman ran the Chicago marathon while nine months pregnant the gave birth immediately after and athletes set insane records at this year's Kona Ironman.
And now Singh, nicknamed the "Turbaned Torpedo" has made history with his amazing 26.2.
Singh ran the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon on Sunday and earned a spot in the Guinness World Book of Records after he crossed the finish line last of the pack (3845th) with a time of 8:25:16. [RESULTS] (AP/PHOTO)
Singh had hoped to finish the race in about nine hours and was ecstatic to crush his pace goal, his coach said.
"Beating his original prediction, he's overjoyed," his coach and translator Harmander Singh told the Associated Press. "Earlier, just before we came around the [final] corner, he said, 'Achieving this will be like getting married again.'"
Singh, who hails from London, speaks only Punjabi and issued statements through his coach.
The Toronto race marked Singh's eighth marathon. He ran his first when he was 89, an age at which most runners have been long since retired.
Sunday's race was not the first time Singh set a a record in Toronto- in 2003, he ran the course in 5:40:01 setting a record in the age 90 and over category.
The five-foot-eight, 115-pounds endurance sport wonder attributes his physical fitness and longevity to abstaining from smoking or alcohol and to following a vegetarian diet.
Singh, a British citizen, is not planning on slowing down after setting his latest world record and in fact already has his eye on his next great feat: He will participate in the torch relay at the 2012 Olympic Summer Games in London.

Wise Asri sniped at silly Ali over solar bibles. Yeah!

November 18, 2011
KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 18 — Islamic scholar Dr Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin sniped at Selangor PAS leader Datuk Dr Hasan Ali today for “insulting Muslims” by claiming they would be influenced by Christians using high-tech devices to proselytise to them.
“It is an insult to Muslims and the Islamic faith. As if Muslims who listen to Bible readings would eventually be swayed.
“This is as if the Bible’s influence surpasses that of the al-Quran,” Asri (picture) said in a statement to The Malaysian Insider.
The former Perlis mufti added Hasan’s remarks were unsuitable as they had come from a person living in the age of technology.
“These days all readings, whether the al-Quran or the Bible, can be sourced from the Internet.
“All sorts of gadgets, whether the computer or others, can be used to download these readings,” he pointed out.
Asri said by publicising the matter, Hasan was indirectly promoting the reading of the Bible to those of other faiths.
“But even then, it is not an offence. The world is not a closed one. Those who hear and evaluate for themselves can find the truth they seek.
“The role of religion in this era is not as a blockade but to help explain and educate in a mature manner,” he said.
Hasan, the Selangor executive councillor in charge of religion, said yesterday that evangelical Christians were using high-tech devices such as solar-powered talking bibles to proselytise to Malay Muslims in the state.
He said the state’s religious authority (Jais) had discovered that Christian missionaries were now spreading their gospel through technologically-advanced means apart from setting up welfare groups providing cash and other financial aid to single mothers and the destitute.
He added that Jais’s research showed Christian evangelists were spreading their faith to young Muslim students in free tuition classes and counselling sessions, besides distributing Christian pamphlets in public places, homes, universities and places that were ostensibly called “community centres”.
According to a website called Book of Joe, the palm-sized radio-like device contains all the books in the New and Old Testaments and is fitted with batteries that will run for almost 10 hours before needing to be recharged, whether by the sun, a light bulb or a nine-volt AC adapter. It costs only US$99.95 (RM310).
This latest disclosure, after the controversial August 3 raid by Selangor Islamic authorities on the Damansara Utama Methodist Church (DUMC) in Petaling Jaya, could trigger another Christian-Muslim conflict.
Christian leaders have consistently denied claims that they are attempting to convert Muslims, but relations between the two creeds with roots in the Middle East continue to smoulder in multi-religious, multi-cultural Malaysia where the religion of the federation is Islam as stated in the Federal Constitution.
