Yes, I was there last Saturday.

For first-timers to Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS), I think the 'safest' way to get there is to make sure your reach UPM first. Best way is to go to UPM starting from North or South exit of Kajang Toll of PLUS highway. Click here to see the map @ MAEPS.

After Kajang Toll, make sure you don't turn left to Kajang. 8-)

Well, I'm not sure if I did follow the map @ MAEPS correctly but I do remember seeing Petronas, Uniten on my left but I don't remember passing by BGP CAFE. After Uniten, I just made sure I followed the UPM sign until I reached UPM.

IF YOU ARE thinking of buying new furniture, renovating a room or fixing a plumbing problem in the near future, then just head on down to Viva Home for all your requirements.
Viva Home is planned to be Malaysia’s first integrated lifestyle, home and entertainment mall.
This innovative one-stop centre is the latest project by the Kha Seng Group of Companies and is part of its plan to focus on niche retail malls in the Klang Valley, such as Central Market and the upcoming fashion wholesale mall, Kenanga Wholesale City.
Located just 10 minutes from the city centre in Jalan Loke Yew at the former Plaza Uncang Emas (Ue3), the building is currently under extensive renovation to provide a more comfortable shopping experience with more access points to allow for easier traffic flow.
Viva Home is set to open at the end of 2010, offering everything from furniture and fittings to fixtures and home decor as well as home services inside a 660,000sq ft space occupying five levels of retail space.
At Viva Home, shoppers can fulfil all their house renovation and home improvement needs without the hassle of having to go from place to place for different things.

Now, they can get everything under one roof from the mall’s eclectic mix of speciality home retailers and brands. Finding products and comparing prices will be a breeze as every kind of home products can be found here.
Different zones of the mall are dedicated to a theme for the convenience of shoppers. One of the zones will house lifestyle furniture and deco essentials as well as professional services needed to create their dream home.
At another zone, homeowners will find all the basic necessities to spruce up their home. These include landscaping and gardening items such as plants, tools, patio furniture and even barbecue grills and other outdoor accessories.
There will also be a zone that will feature furniture for every room in the house. For those who want Asian-themed decorations and furniture, the Oriental Treasures zone offers all these and more. There will also be a wide variety of curtains, throws and rugs to choose from.
This zone will also house the Home Clinic, a place for shoppers to see to all their fix-it needs. Here, they can get the services of plumbers, renovators, interior designers, electrical repair specialists, swimming pool specialists and other professionals who can help put their house in perfect order.
The final zone is a place where shoppers can find add-ons to make their home complete. These include interior decorating materials, grilles, doors, floorings, lighting fixtures, children’s furniture and many more.

There is also an Expo Hall for holding any home fairs and related events.
The topmost floor is dedicated to all things fun with a cinema and an extensive ICT zone where enthusiasts will find themselves in tech heaven.
Aside from all these, Viva Home also offers other facilities and amenities such as banking, F&B outlets as well as a supermarket for the convenience of neighbourhood residents and shoppers.
The mall is also equipped with trolleys and cargo lifts, as well as a loading area for shoppers with bulky purchases, and has over 2,000 parking bays.
Kha Seng founder and Viva Mall Sdn Bhd managing director Bernard Bong said the idea behind the mall was timely as most people would prefer to get everything done in one location.
As the first one-stop mall of its kind in the country, he hopes that Viva Home will be able to draw in customers who want a new retail experience.
Viva Mall CEO Yee Ia Howe said that so far, Viva Home has managed to reach 70% occupancy, with more expected as the opening day draws near. There are also plans to open a second phase, a boutique hotel, sometime in 2012.
The mall is expected to cater to residents of the surrounding suburbs, as well as the rest of the Klang Valley, thanks to nearby highways and easy access via the nearby Miharja LRT station.
A showroom is currently open daily at the entrance of Viva Home for those who are interested to find out more about this exciting new home haven.

GETTING  there
GOING to Viva Home will be easier thanks to efforts to improve accessibility. The building, on Jalan Loke Yew, is directly linked through Jalan Tun Razak and Jalan Cheras.

An underpass is available for people travelling from the Cheras area, and for people returning to the city centre.

The nearby Miharja LRT station will also be linked to Viva Home through a new pedestrian sky bridge.

Access to Viva Home from other parts of the Klang Valley like Petaling Jaya, Subang and Bukit Jalil is made possible via the SMART Highway and KL-Putrajaya highway.

Refreshing Springs Resort - Kg. Gumut Tambahan, Kalumpang, Ulu Selangor - www.refreshingspringsresort.com.my

Just came back from a 2D1N stay @ Refreshing Springs Resort - a perfect place to break away from the stress of city life. It's only an hour's drive from KL.

Directions to go there:

1. Get on the PLUS highway, head north and exit at Tanjung Malim. After you pay the toll, go straight. You will see some signs that can confuse you. Ignore the 'turn-left' sign that reads 'Tanjung Malim'. 

2. Go straight up on a mini 'flyover'. You will reach a traffic light junction and see a 'turn right' blue sign that reads 'Kuala Lumpur'. Again, don't be confused by this sign, thinking that you will end up in Kuala Lumpur and miss the resort. Just turn right, go straight all the way and you will be on a two-way trunk road.

3. At approximately 6-8 km, look out for a Kampung Gumut Tambahan sign on your left. Once you see the Kampung Gumut Tambahan sign, you can also see a Caltex petrol station  not far away on the opposite side of the two-way trunk road.

4. Turn left at Kampung Gumut Tambahan sign. Just follow the road all the way until you reach a 'four-pronged' road.

5. Turn left and keep left until you reach a small bridge.

6. Cross the small bridge.

7. Go straight all the way until you reach Refreshing Springs Resort.
