Potty training for children/toddlers: Steps, tips, info; Potty training in 3 days?
Last Friday, he was doing quite well for the first time after much cajoling and persuasion. Had to psycho him and so-called talk him into it.
So, for parents out there, if you're thinking how to start to potty train your boy from age two onwards, do the following:
1. Get a potty (duh!).
2. Get him to wear underwear and shorts at home - strictly no diaper! By doing so, he will be more and more conscious of his body, in this case, his penis (Janson calls it his 'birdie').
3. At least, at every hour, coax/cajole him to sit on the potty. Initially, he will resist your effort to put him on the potty. That's ok. Don't try to push too hard. If he's not ready, don't force it on him. Try again another time. ;)
4. If he does wee in the potty, praise him!
There are many tips/ideas/steps that you can find in the Internet on how to potty train. Don't fall for the one that guarantees potty training in X number of days. I guess every parent wishes to potty train the kid fast but we have to be realistic.
Every child is unique. So, there is no 'hard-and-fast' rule to potty train.

Toy therapy helped 2-yo boy cut down to 15 cigs a day
I first read about the smoking 2-year-old, Ardi Rizal @ The Sun yesterday.
At the time of writing this post, there are at least 130 news articles in Google News under the Health section.
Ardi got his first taste for tobacco when his father Mohammed, a 30-year-old fishmonger, gave him a cigarette when he was only 18 months old.
Here's a video of Ardi puffing away:

Potty training: Is Your Child Ready? 18+ months...Potty training is hard to do
Every effort made to potty train Janson seems to have failed. 8-)
Today, after being woken up by some noise, I got up and went to Janson who was standing near the toilet. Mah-mah was in the toilet, filling the bath tub with water to bathe Janson. She told me that he just poopooed something small and hard on the floor of the kitchen. Then, mah-mah came out of the toilet and Janson went in, waiting to get into the bath tub. Suddenly, I could see his face changing, as if trying to push something out!
'AIYAK!' I shouted when I saw something hard on the ground. It was the size of a sausage, only shorter and slightly bigger!
Janson cried. I was shocked.
He was actually frightened to see an object dropping off while he had his pants on but not his diapers. Quickly, I went to hug him while stroking his head and apologised profusely, saying sorry to him a few times.
Some people have suggested that one of the ways to potty train is a toddler is to let him go without a diaper but with a loose shorts or pants on. Then, let him poopoo or wee-wee freely. If possible, watch out for the 'I-got-to-go' sign. Of course there are many 'tips' out there on potty training but I guess there is no one proven method that works for every child.
I just took a 'Potty Training: Is Your Child Ready' quiz. A para of the result reads:
The average child cannot be successfully toilet trained before the age of 28 months. While girls are often trained by age two, boys may not be trained before three or later. Of course, there are always exceptions.

Amelanistic corn snake shed its skin - Watch the skin!
Vid taken on 16 Feb, 2010 @ Miracle Pets Tesco Extra Cheras
My first time seeing a skin shed by a snake.
Janson's first time too!
Why do snakes shed? An explanation from the website - 'Caring for Corn Snakes':
Shedding
As a reptile grows, its old skin become too tight and worn. A new skin awaits just below the old. As a snake gets ready to shed, its eyes will turn a milky blue over the course of several days, and the body color will start to dull and develop a whitish sheen. Once the eyes have cleared, the snake is ready to shed. To assure proper hydration, soak the snake in warmish water after the eyes clear; this should enable to snake to shed easily within the next 24 hours.

Chest = shame! Button = nipple!
A few days ago, I was going through the book 'ABC Visual Dictionary' with Janson. When we came came to the picture 'Chest', he showed his chest, then pointed to mine and said, 'Shame!'
Today, he pointed to my 'nipple' and said, 'Button!'
Hehe...All because this daddy is most of the time topless at home. ;-)
