Malaysians love to shop online during office hours - thanks to 11street.my?

Admittedly, shopping online at 11 AM was my guilty pleasure during office hours (obviously!) throughout last year - thanks to 11street.my! On weekdays, two to three minutes before 11 AM, I would take my mobile phone, launch the 11street app and get ready to click  the 'Download' button to get the coveted coupon that gave 20% discount.

While I had enjoyed getting discounts shopping online, I got some great deals and some not-so-great deals. Great because some stuff were cheaper. Not-so-great because some stuff were still more expensive after discount. Once, I bought boxes of Premier facial tissues at a discount via 11street app. Later, I found out that Tesco was selling the same boxes of Premier facial tissues at a much cheaper price!

One sales gimmick that online shopping sites often use is to mark up the Retail Selling Price as high as possible and slash it to the lowest possible - hence, the 'big' discount. Do not fall for it. Always compare price even after discount given. This is one advice that I can give to you if you think that buying online is always cheaper than buying offline.

Cardiac screening heart scan @ IJN: RM555 only

Decided to go for heart screening at Institut Jantung Negara after being suspected of having TIA, otherwise known as "mini stroke".

 The heart screening program is called ESP, short for 'Executive Screening Program'.

My first call to +603 2600 6421 was answered at the first ring. I was impressed.  The lady at the other line sounded very nice and professional. In a jiffy, my appointment was scheduled for the next morning.

Some tips:

1. Park at Blok C

2. The ESP team should give you a sticker for your parking - it's a discount

3. When you leave, don't pay at the automated ticketing machine but go to the parking office next to the entry to Blok C parking

4. Pass your parking ticket and sticker to the parking attendant who will scan your sticker

5. Pay for your discounted parking

6. Exit the car park (duh, obviously)
