My family's first Raya open house...

Our first open house at Selayang today. Kampung Melayu Kepong to be precise.

Then, we moved to the other side of Selayang for our second open house.

These two open houses were MJ's colleagues' houses.

More pictures in my wife's blog.

It was a peaceful Raya open house until... Malaysiakini

The Hindraf supporters were denied access to greet the Prime Minister via the public queue at PWTC today. Before that, they were ushered into one of the dining halls, unable to meet the PM. Undeterred, they exited and re-entered via the entry meant for VIPs, causing a loud commotion as security personnel tried to restrict them. (Read all about the commotion here at The Star Online).

Finally, they were once again allowed to join the public queue to greet the Prime Minister. Malaysiakini said PM smiling throughout and accepted Hindraf's Hari Raya card' when they met the PM.

I don't understand. Right from the start, they were not allowed to join the public queue, much less to greet the Prime Minister. So, what is this?

Who caused the commotion? Obviously, those who wanted to stop them. “If they come in peace and harmony there shouldn’t be any problems,” said Home Minister Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar. Obviously, they came in peace. The problem was they were being stopped, Mr. Syed Hamid Albar.

Generation Y

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:
Generation Y, like other generations, was shaped by the events, leaders, developments and trends of its time, the 1990s and 2000s. [5] The rise of instant communication technologies made possible through use of the internet, such as email, texting, and IM and new media used through websites like YouTube and social networking sites, may explain Generation Y's reputation for being peer oriented and for seeking instant gratification. This trend of communication is continuing into Generation Z.

Do I belong to Generation Y? I don't think so. Probably X. Is there a W? Hmm...My teenage years were in the 1980s, twenties in 1990s and then I was there at the turn of the millennium.

So, I guess I belong to the Generation X, Y and...Z? Not sure but then again, I certainly do not belong to Generation Y as depicted below:

Selamat Hari Raya & Happy Holiday!

Selamat Hari Raya! Maaf, zahir & batin.

Funny faces

Can you try to do the same?

Bravo, Zaid Ibrahim!

By now, Zaid Ibrahim's open letter to PM is all over the blogosphere.

After 'Dear Mr Prime Minister', he said:
In our proclamation of independence, our first Prime Minister gave voice to the lofty aspirations and dreams of the people of Malaya: that Malaya was founded on the principles of liberty and justice, and the promise that collectively we would always strive to improve the welfare and happiness of its people.

Then, he went on talking about the birth of ISA in 1960 to deal with the communist threat and even after the communist threat was non-existent, it was and is still being used to stifle legitimate opposition and silent lawful dissent. (To read the letter in its entirety, click here)

Truly, Zaid Ibrahim is an epitome of world-class Malaysian! A man who who walks the talk. YEAH!

Officially October 1

Janson is exactly 5-month-and-1-day old today.

Thank God for His protection over baby Janson.

We look forward to a new phase of growth.

He started teething last month. (Click here to see his first tooth in mommy's blog).

Thank God for mommy who takes good care of Janson.

Thank God for grandparents who shower him with love.

Thank God, most of all, for His love for our family.
