Apparently, Najib did a walkabout at Sea Park in Petaling Jaya, also better known as PJ's SS2. If Najib only knew, some neighbouring 'tamans' of Sea Park PJ, for example Taman Paramount, have their own security guards patrolling the streets . So, what say you, Najib? Do people really trust or have confidence in police to conduct patrols? ;)

Outgoing Transport Minister Ong Tee Keat has assured a smooth handover of duties to his replacement, Kong Cho Ha, saying that he respects Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's choice of replacement, Ong said he would continue to serve the public as the member of parliament for Pandan. 

Ong was a key figure in initiating investigations into the Port Klang Free Zone scandal, which has rattled many top political personalities and in the party' s 56th annual general meeting, Ong had said, "If I cared only about my post, I would not have stirred so many hornets' nests."

PARIS (AFP) – French financial police have searched the offices of naval arms manufacturer DCNS and industrial group Thales in connection with a probe into the sale of submarines to Malaysia, a judicial source said Tuesday.

Documents were seized in the operation, which was carried out last week, the source added.

Thales declined to comment on the matter.

DCNS told AFP it "neither confirms nor denies this information."

"A judicial investigation is under way and we can make no comment."

The Paris prosecutor's office in March opened an investigation into the 2002 sale following a complaint lodged last year by the Malaysian human rights group Suaram.

The group alleges that Armaris, a subsidiary of Thales and the DCN, as the DCNS was formerly known, paid a commission of 114 million euros (140 million dollars) to the Malaysian company Perimekar, linked to people close to now Prime Minister Najib Razak.

Razak in 2002 was defence minister and was responsible for negotiating the contract.

Since 2000, the payment of commissions on contracts linked to foreign leaders amounts to corruption under French law.

The DCN in 2002 joined Thales and Spanish naval construction group Navantia in a contract to sell Malaysia three submarines for around one billion euros.

A spokesman for the Malaysian prime minister's office in late April insisted there was "no case" to answer.

He maintained that the deal had been free of graft and that Perimekar had not improperly benefited from it.

DAP state secretary Nga Kor Ming wants has challenged Mentri Besar Zambry Abdul Kadir to follow the footsteps of Penang, Kedah, Selangor and Kelantanby keeping legalised sports betting out of the state for the sake of the people, thus preventing it from taking a foothold in the state.

Guan Eng's blooper in Sibu

An independent observer revealed a blooper by DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng while visiting longhouses during the Sibu by-election in Sarawak earlier this month.

The independent observer claimed that Lim asked the residents if Sarawak Chief Minister Abdul Taib Mahmud had ever given them RM100 as part of an appreciation programme for senior citizens (as implemented in Penang). Ong Boon Keong, the said independent observer said everyone kept quiet and dared not tell (him) that (at) every election, they receive RM600 per door!
