Deputy Education Minister Wee Ka Siong's surprise appearance at a
Chinese education rally in Kajang today drew heckles from participants.
According to eye witnesses, a scuffle broke out between Wee's bodyguard and a middle aged man, when the former stopped the latter who tried to approach and punch Wee upon his arrival at 11am.

Wee, who appeared at the rally at New Era College with heavy police escort, has been blamed for failing to resolve the matter. [Watch video here] and later confirmed the incident, saying that the man almost touched his
left cheek, saying, “I could not identify him, I only know he was
wearing a T-shirt.”
The rally, organised by Chinese education
group Dong Zong, in protest against acute shortage of Chinese-educated
teachers, is dubbed the "325 assembly".
Indeed, time and again, MCA has proven that it cannot fight for the Chinese, let alone Malaysians of every race and creed.
Do we need MCA to fight for Chinese? No.
If the 'I am-Malay-first-Malaysian-second' DPM was sincere, he should have resolved the matter. If he did not, he could have at least attended the rally too.
Worst of all, the 1Malaysia PM can do nothing.
The Chinese is the 'second-biggest-majority' race in Malaysia yet the government has shown nothing but apathy to the shortage of Chinese-medium teachers.
