PKR has picked up on a police report that claims a federal minister had paid a popular local actress up to RM1.5 million in four months of their “intimate relationship” that has spanned three years.

The police report was lodged by one Noor Azman Azemi, 38, on March 13 at the Ampang police station.

He said he had lodged the report following an accusation by the actress on March 3 that he had absconded with RM200,000.

His relative then gave a copy to Ampang MP Zuraida Kamaruddin, who revealed the contents to journalists at the Parliament lobby today and questioned the source of the minister’s funds.

NONEZuraida (left) claimed that the actress had received RM58,000 last October, RM112,000 in November and RM330,000 in December, as well as RM510,000 in January this year.

Reading out from the polic report, she said Noor Azman claimed to have been assigned by the minister to work as a driver to the actress (names withheld pending comment) three years ago.

Noor Azman, who said the minister told him to keep tabs on the actress’ “every movement”, described himself as the “trusted middleman” who helped channel the funds into her personal account.

He further claimed in the report that the minister would secretly meet the actress each week in hotels around Kuala Lumpur.

"At every meeting, (the minister) would hand over RM100,000 to RM200,000... the cash would be taken by me and (the actress) to be credited into (her bank) account in  Menara Perkeso, Jalan Ampang," alleged Noor Azman.

He said he had resigned on Feb 29 this year, as he could not manage the pressure of working for the minister and because he had to report on the actress’ movements while the minister was overseas.
Noor Azman  also said the actress has lodged a police report against him because she was dissatisfied  with his resignation and she had been “scolded” by the minister.

Seven-day ultimatum
Zuraida said the minister has seven days to respond to the allegations and answer as to the source of his funds.

Subang MP R Sivarasa, who was present, said: “I’m under the impression that their relationship might have been going on for more than three years, so imagine how much (the minister) must have spent."

Malaysiakini attempted to contact the minister involved but there was no response up to the time of writing.
