Set lunch: 糖黐豆 Sweet Bean @ SS2 Petaling Jaya

Sweet Bean has UNIFI. ;)

Had lunch here for the first time. Decided to go 'economical' - hence, ordered the set lunch.
This set lunch had a main course that came with jelly and a choice of iced lemon tea or 'tong sui'.
I chose the peanut 'tong sui' aka 'fa sang wu' instead of the iced lemon tea. Why?
Reason being I was greedy I thought to myself, 'Rice alone won't be enough to fill my stomach.'
After eating the rice and consuming the 'fa sang wu', I was extremely full.
Fried rice was okay - normal.

For a much more 'interesting' review, go the link below:

"Surprise, surprise!"

After Anwar, sex video of Nurul Izzah to be released soon, claims PKR

PETALING JAYA, March 26 — After Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Umno cybertroopers are now planning an attack on his daughter, Nurul Izzah Anwar, with a lurid sex video meant to sully her squeaky clean image, Datuk Saifuddin Nasution alleged today.
The PKR secretary-general claimed he and several other leaders were invited by agents of “Umno-BN” for a “preview” of several photographs and two yet-to-be-released sex videos — one allegedly of Nurul Izzah (picture), the MP for Lembah Pantai, and a second one of her father.
Saifuddin said the agents had also warned that more videos are currently under production to incriminate other key PKR leaders, including Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim.
According to a media report today, PKR deputy president Azmin Ali may also be implicated in a video.
“It was a warning, a political threat... as a senior politician we know that the final purpose is to inflict maximum injury to the integrity of our leaders.
“I don’t know who they are but they seem to know a lot about video production,” he told a press conference at the PKR headquarters here.
Saifuddin did not specify the agents’ demands or their reason for allowing them to view the videos, which were screened in a car, but repeated that it was an obvious threat meant to destroy the political careers of those featured ahead of the crucial general election.
He insisted that the videos are fake, saying they were created using digital image manipulation involving the coupling of separate scenes to provide the impression that the featured lawmakers were committing sexual misconduct.
“We are not threatened. This is what we are used to,” he said, adding that if released, the authenticity of the videos and photographs could be challenged in court.
But Saifuddin explained that PKR wanted to warn Malaysians first of the videos’ eventual release to urge voters not to be fooled by what he labelled as “Umno’s morally reprehensible deceptions”.
“PKR would like to tell the Malaysian people that the instances of such insidious acts against us are expected and our leaders are capable of weathering them, for the righteous are often tested.
“The experience will only increase our fortitude in this struggle and spur us forward with more determination,” he said. “We know the people see these doctored videos as desperate, despicable and over-the-top political tactics of Umno.”
Anwar has been repeatedly linked in the past to many sex videos and pictures, including the famous recording of his alleged sex acts with a Chinese girl released by the “Datuk T trio” last year.
In the latest round of accusations, pro-Umno bloggers released pictures of a man resembling Anwar locked in a kiss with another male, and a partly released video showing him in conversation with a 19-year-old male undergraduate, who he allegedly gets intimate with later.
Anwar recently filed a RM100 million suit against pro-Umno blogger Papa Gomo for the sex video allegations, claiming the images published on the latter’s blogsite were fake and aimed at tarnishing his reputation.

Two days ago, when the government announced the GTP and ETP and all its NKRAs, Najib was reported in the news as saying: "All the NKRAs have been achieved with flying colours! Crime index has gone down, income of the household has gone up, and corruption has been addressed."
Seriously, corruption has been addressed? BN's biggest lie.

FOOD @ BBQ Thai Street Food Old Klang Road KL

Came to BBQ Thai for the first time this month. Apparently, BBQ Thai is a 'newly-opened'. Probably, less than one year old.

How is the food here? Overall, OK. Well, my mother-in-law who is quite a good cook herself rated the tom yam as average while my wife said it was not as nice as the tom yam served at Nong & Jimmy located at Ampang KL.

Direction: If you're coming from Mid Valley, you will see the sign 'BBQ Thai' on your left as you travel on Old Klang Road.

We ate in hut.
If you want to eat in a hut and not in the open air, be sure to make reservation first.

The dinner spread. ;)

If ou want more info, just visit this blog, 'Everyday Food I Love'. It has a review on Thai BBQ here:

Mongolian Altantuya dead, Malaysian PI Bala dead!

A sad day for Malaysia but the truth will still prevail.

PI Bala dead of heart trouble

UPDATED @ 05:01:51 PM 15-03-2013
BY IDA LIM
March 15, 2013
KUALA LUMPUR, March 15 — Private detective P. Balasubramaniam died today of a heart ailment, weeks after returning home vowing to expose the truth behind Mongolian Altantuya Shaariibuu’s murder in 2006.

When contacted at about 2.50pm today, Balasubramaniam’s lawyer Americk Singh Sidhu confirmed that his client had died.
“He died about 45 minutes ago,” Americk told The Malaysian Insider.
Americk said Balasubramaniam’s wife had called for an ambulance when the former private investigator had a heart attack in his house.
The lawyer said it was too late by the time the ambulance arrived, adding: “He died when he was at home.”
“His body has been taken to the Sungai Buloh hospital,” he said.
Americk confirmed that Balasubramaniam had been warded in the hospital for about a week from March 3, but “went home to rest”.
He said his client was due to go for a checkup this morning, but was not sure if he went.
He said he had spoken to Balasubramaniam over the phone in the past few days and his client had sounded fine.
“It was very unexpected. I’m devastated... I think he’s probably one of the best Malaysians we had,” said Americk, who was not at his client’s house when the heart attack occurred.
In an immediate response to news of Balasubramaniam’s death, controversial businessman Deepak Jaikishan said: “I heard about it. I offer my condolences.”
Deepak had recently admitted that he had helped Balasubramaniam repudiate the latter’s earlier statutory declaration (SD) on the 2006 high-profile murder case, including finding two lawyers to draft the new statement.
The businessman had also named a number of individuals in his allegations, including the alleged lawyer who drafted the second SD.
Early this month, Balasubramaniam was reported to have been diagnosed with a heart condition after three of his arteries were found to be clogged.
PKR lawmaker Sivarasa Rasiah this afternoon wrote on microblogging site Twitter that Balasubramaniam was discharged from the hospital this Tuesday and was due to undergo heart bypass surgery.
“He was due to be scheduled for bypass surgery in about three weeks; on medication and treatment pending that.”
“Bala had a follow-up with his doctors this morning in SJMC and looked fine: unfortunately had breathing difficulties at about 1.30 pm,” Sivarasa tweeted.
Early last month, Balasubramaniam had come out of hiding and returned to Malaysia, saying that he wanted to help campaign for the federal opposition Pakatan Rakyat (PR) ahead of Election 2013.
Balasubramaniam or “PI Bala” had first entered the public’s eye in 2008 for claims he made against top federal government personalities in his first statutory declaration (SD) on Altantuya’s brutal murder.
But when Balasubramaniam retracted the SD the following day and signed a new one in which the names of these personalities were omitted, he found himself in an even deeper tangle and was forced to flee the country.
A year later, in 2009, he reappeared in the limelight when he claimed that the second SD had been signed under duress and prepared without his knowledge.
Last December, the Bar Council said it had launched an investigation on the identity of the lawyers involved in Balasubramaniam’s second SD and possible misconduct in the drafting of the sworn statement on the matter but said Deepak had refused to co-operate.
The Bar Council is due to complete its probe into the possible misconduct in the drafting of the second SD soon, the English-language daily The Star reported today.
“The target is to make a decision at the council meeting in April,” the Council’s chairman Lim Chee Wee was quoted as saying.
Lim also reportedly said: “If we find prima facie evidence of misconduct, we will lodge a complaint with the Disciplinary Board.”
The Bar Council had in a press invite said that the Malaysian Bar would consider a motion at its 67th Annual General Meeting (AGM) tomorrow to set up an Independent Investigation Committee to probe the facts and the circumstances surrounding the preparation and execution of the second SD that was purportedly affirmed by Balasubramaniam.
A cloud of mystery has hung over the identity of the lawyer who drew up Balasubramaniam’s second SD, dated a day after his first on July 3, 2008, regarding the 2006 murder, for which two elite police commandos have been convicted and are facing death sentences.

Bala: Justice for Altantuya & UTK guys Azilah, Sirul

'Altantuya doesn't want me to die yet'

EXCLUSIVE Divine intervention and a guardian spirit saved him from a close brush with death.

So believes former private investigator P Balasubramaniam, who was on March 3 warded in the cardiac unit of a private hospital in Selangor after being diagnosed with clogged coronary vessels.

Balasubramaniam, 53, believes he could have died from a heart attack at any time after leaving India to return home last month to campaign for opposition coalition Pakatan Rakyat, or during the many speaking engagements scheduled for him.

Better known as PI Bala, he is strong in his faith that "the man upstairs" and the spirit of the murdered Mongolian woman still needed him to continue with his crusade.

"Every year, on Oct 19, I pray for her. I hope one day justice will be done," Bala told Malaysiakini in an exclusive interview on Monday.

His battle, he said, was not only for the murdered Mongolian but also for the "scapegoats" blamed for the crime.

NONEHis packed ceramah sessions over the past few weeks showcased his involvement in two contradictory statutory declarations (SD) and the alleged involvement of Najib Abdul Razak and those close to the prime minister in the murder of Mongolian national Altantuya Shaariibuu and an alleged subsequent cover-up.

Bala discovered his heart condition during a medical check-up after experiencing breathing difficulties at the speaking engagements in both Kota Bharu and Kuala Lumpur, causing him to miss ceramah sessions planned in Johor and Sabah. He may undergo a heart bypass surgery in the coming weeks.

"I want justice not only for Altantuya, but also for the two UTK (Unit Tindakan Khas or Special Operations Force) guys. You know how the UTK works, under instructions," said the former police officer who served a stint in the Special Branch.

altantuya and son 050309Two officers from the UTK, an elite police force, were accused, tried and convicted of the murder of Altantuya (left) and were sentenced to death. They have appealed and the matter is still pending.

"We cannot simply send two innocent policemen to the gallows. Let us change the government, (because) once changed, the case will be reopened.
"Then we will know who is guilty, who is not guilty. If the government is not going to be changed, we won't see the truth," Bala argued.

Asked if well-connected carpet trader Deepak Jaikishan, who was directly involved with Bala's second SD saga, had contacted him, the former private eye said he had "heard nothing" from Deepak.

Deepak also came out admitting to his own involvement in the saga, linking Najib and his close confidantes to the 2006 murder of the Mongolian translator and alleged cover-up.

'I am a changed man since 2009'

However, he said it would be better for him and Deepak to work separately as they were not cut from exactly the same cloth.

NONE"Yes, he's got the same story. But I am a changed man since 2009. Deepak (right) is a changed man only when something is not (right with his business).

"In 2009, and when Najib become deputy prime minister, I had already changed. I came back and look at what has happened to me.

"But Deepak, (only) when something is not right (with his business), he is shouting. Not me, I am the same person from 2009 till today. I am the same person, and my statements have been consistent," Bala insisted.

The carpet trader had apparently started to come clean about his part in the Altantuya affair after he felt cheated by a senior Selangor Umno member in a land deal.

Deepak now claims to be crusading for justice for Altantuya.

NONEBala also dismissed allegations that he had been promised RM700,000 by Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim if he campaigns for Pakatan.

"Let them say what they want to say, for God is great. If I have taken (the money), if Anwar paid me RM700,000, let God punish me.

"I have never heard about the 700k and I don't know where they got (the idea)."

Regarding the police reports filed against him by Malay rights NGO Perkasa and its demands for proof of his allegations, Bala was unperturbed.

"Let them make noise... I am not bothered. Let them make noise as this is a democratic country.

"If the police call me l shall answer to the police. I am ever ready. I got three good lawyers behind me. Let them."

Saiful's dad: Anwar innocent, Najib unscrupulous

Saiful’s dad: Anwar innocent of sodomy

G Vinod | March 8, 2013
Saiful Bukhari Azlan's father, Azlan Mohd Lazim, said that his son was used by several unscrupulous people, including a special officer to the prime minister, to fabricate lies against the opposition leader.
FULL REPORT
KUALA LUMPUR:  In a shocking turnaround of event, Saiful Bukhari Azlan’s father told a group of selected media today that Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim is innocent of the Sodomy II accusation.
In a hastily arranged press conference, Azlan Mohd Lazim,60, said that Anwar was a victim of a vile political conspiracy.
“My son was used by several unscrupulous individuals, including Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak’s special officer, Khairil Annas Jusoh.
“These people masterminded the slander against Anwar, using my son,” he alleged.
Last year, Anwar was acquitted by the Kuala Lumpur High Court on charges of sodomising Saiful, his former aide.
The Attorney-General’s Chambers appealed against the verdict and the Court of Appeal is scheduled to hear the case on July 22.
Azlan, a semi-retiree, said that he had stood by his son’s accusation against Anwar in the past to provide moral support to Saiful.
“He’s my son and I know he is good person but as I was attending his trial in the last four years, I sensed something was amiss.
“Some people also gave me evidence which convinced me of Anwar’s innocence. As a Malay and a Muslim, I cannot continue being a pawn in this evil scheme of things,” he said.
‘My conscience is clear’

During the question and answer session, Azlan claimed that his previous statements to the media were scripted by his lawyer, Zamri Idrus.
“My lawyers prepared my statements, under the instructions of Khairil,” he alleged.
But he admitted that he has never met Khairil personally but heard about the officer from his son.
“The government did not meet me to discuss the case or even ask my opinion. Everything is carefully handed by Khairil,” said Azlan.
On why his son got involved the plot, Azlan said he was in the dark on the matter.
Whether Saiful is aware of him having a press conference today, Azlan refused to comment.
“If he is unhappy, that is up to him. All I know is that my conscience is clear,” he said.
Azlan added that he was prepared to repeat his statement in court if he was given the space.
“God willing, if I have the opportunity, I will also personally tender an apology to Anwar and his family for the troubles they have undergone,” he said.
Saiful had previously sworn in a mosque that he had been sodomised by Anwar, a charge whichwas always denied by the opposition parliamentarian.

Cardiac screening heart scan @ IJN: RM555 only

Decided to go for heart screening at Institut Jantung Negara after being suspected of having TIA, otherwise known as "mini stroke".

The heart screening program is called ESP, short for 'Executive Screening Program'.

I called on Monday morning to make an appointment after getting the contact information from the website of IJN:

If you wish to go for the heart screening, call the IJN ESP Team at +603 2600 6421.

My first call to +603 2600 6421 was answered at the first ring. I was impressed.  The lady at the other line sounded very nice and professional. In a jiffy, my appointment was scheduled for the next morning.

Ok, enough of talking. I'll get the pictures do the talking. ;)

Lovely lantern at the entrance.

The directory says ESP on G.
