najib altantuya: PAS retains Permatang Pasir

  • UPDATED 9.26PM PAS' Mohd Salleh Man has defeated BN's Rohaizat in the Permatang Pasir state seat by-election although the majority has decreased by nearly 900 votes since the last general election.MORE
Malaysiakini reported that Rohaizat said the level of support for BN remained unchanged since the last general election. Muhyiddin agreed.

I also agree.

The result proves Dr M is right. The Malaysian Insider reported not too long ago: Dr M unhappy, warns against blind loyalty in Umno.

The people who voted for Rohaizat must have been the same blind loyalists that Dr M referred to.

We must analys properly. Umno said their vote bank remain the same but PAS vote bank decrese right? The answer is wrong.

The voters percentage whom turn out for mac 2008 election is 82.57% and the PAS candidate won by 5433 vote majority.Which means he get 65.5 % out of the total vote.

But in this by election voters turn out is only 73.1%.The number of voters decreace by 9.47%.

The PAS candidate get 4551 vote majority.Which means he get 65.33 out of the total vote. Its difference by only 0.17 less.

Must take in consideration that the polling falls on working day and its a fasting month for muslims.

So in short PAS support remains the same.
