Thanks to Ahmad Said's family
We really have to thank the family of Malaysia Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Chief Commissioner Datuk Seri Ahmad Said Hamdan, because finally, they have made him retire early.
Of course, the reason was given by Ahmad Said himself. He clarified that he was not resigning under any pressure but he has neglected his family over the past 34 years. Therefore, he quitted five months ahead of his retirement in May next year in order to have more time with his family.
What a great spirit! Without any political pressure, a fine man wanted to retire for the sake of his beloved family. Everyone, please applaud him.
Yes, Ahmad Said wanted to retire early. What a pity! There are still a lot of cases waiting for him to clarify the truth, but he is rushing home to be with his family.

For example, the death of DAP political aide Teoh Beng Hock.
The inquest into Teoh's death will be resumed very soon and I wonder whether Ahmad Said will be able to participate.

Of course, we can still remember the palatial mansion of former Selangor Menteri Besar Dr Mohd Khir Toyo, as well as the abuse of funds revealed by the Auditor-General's Report.
Ahmad Said has vowed to find out the truth of all. But today, he just leaves like that!
From the last Director-General of Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA) to the first Chief Commissioner of the MACC, Ahmad Said said that under his leadership, the MACC would be among the best anti-corruption commission of the world and it would be comparable with the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) of Hong Kong.
From a director-general to a chief commissioner, the country has given him more power, more funds and more manpower. Of course, he has been given a higher salary, too. He has been expected to rectify the country's internal corruption.
Malaysia was ranked 37 in the Transparency International (TI) Corruption Perception Index (CPI) and Ahmad Said vowed to make it ranked at least 30 in 2008.
The people were having great expectations for him but 30 months later, Malaysia's ranking dropped to 47 in 2008 and 56 in 2009.
It has been 30 years and none a major case is solved.
Instead, Teoh was found dead on the fifth floor of the Selangor MACC office.
Do you remember what had Ahmad Said said?
“There is nothing I can do if people investigated cannot withstand the pressure and throw themselves off from the building!”
When the people were shocked and sad, Ahmad Said's response was: There was nothing he could do.
In fact, critics usually spare and be lenient to those who are retiring. However, I have failed to find any perspective that allows me to be lenient to Ahmad Said.

Remember, Ahmad Said is the father whose pilot son was found guilty of bringing child pornographic material into Australia.
