PETALING JAYA (May 31, 2012): The Curve Shopping Mall centre manager Jazmi Kamarudin has appealed for the public's assistance to provide more information to solve its recent crime incidents.
In a statement to theSun, Jazmi expressed his regret to the
victims on behalf of the shopping mall's management team, adding that
their current priority is to work with the authorities to apprehend the
perpetrators.
He was responding to two incidents which involved two employees who
were robbed of RM80,000 yesterday while attempting to deposit the monies
to a bank located on the ground floor.
The incident occurred at 10:45am, where the two robbers threw curry
powders at the women's faces before they escaped in a blue Proton Wira
parked outside the mall.
The first occurred on Sunday at 5:20pm, where two kidnappers
attempted to abduct Internet marketeer Chin Xin-Ci while she was loading
her shopping bags into her boyfriend's car.
Chin recounted her experience on her Facebook and Twitter account which went viral through social media.
She reported that a man approached her from the back with a meat
cleaver at her throat, while a second man appeared and took her car keys
while demanding her parking ticket.
She managed to escape with minor injuries although most of her belongings were lost.
On Tuesday, Jazmi said investigations are underway with police cooperation and offered support for Chin.
Police confirmed on Tuesday that a report had been lodged and the case had been classified as robbery.
Both incidents occurred at the same place and the attackers are still at large.
In the mall or on the street, is just not safe anymore. Last night, I
witnessed two thieves speeding off on a motorcycle as fast as they could snatch a
gold chain from a man"s neck.
