Pua all set to debunk Chua over Talam
The PJ Utara MP says he will show how Chua Tee Yong failed in his corruption allegations against the Selangor state government.
PETALING
JAYA: DAP has vowed to debunk MCA’s ‘expose’ of the Selangor state
government’s alleged RM1 billion Talam Corporation deal.
DAP national publicity secretary Tony Pua attacked Labis MP (MCA)
Chua Tee Yong’s Talam revelation and threatened to break the latter’s
allegations apart.
Pua plans on doing this at a press conference tomorrow, adding: “Chua
should learn that before making an expose, he must get his basic facts
right, or the pie will be in your face.”
On July 3, Chua said the Pakatan Rakyat-run Selangor state government had possibly misused public funds in bailing out Talam.
The MCA Young Professionals Bureau chief alleged the Selangor had
done so via a RM392 million supplementary budget passed in the state’s
legislative assembly in 2009.
He added that the state bought an additional RM676 million worth of assets from Talam.
In a salvo against Chua, Pua said that Talam had had its financial
regularisation plan by July 1 2009, long before its purported deal with
Selangor, which he added, was held at the end of 2009.
He added that Talam’s shares were “never suspended” even as a PN17 company, and were freely traded on the stock exchange.
It is expected that DAP will reveal more on the matter tomorrow.
Responding to MCA’s claims, the Selangor state government has intended to sue MCA over its allegations.
