Potty training for children/toddlers: Steps, tips, info; Potty training in 3 days?

Am quite pleased with Janson's progress in his response to the urge to wee in the potty.

Last Friday, he was doing quite well for the first time after much cajoling and persuasion. Had to psycho him and so-called talk him into it.

So, for parents out there, if you're thinking how to start to potty train your boy from age two onwards, do the following:
1. Get a potty (duh!).
2. Get him to wear underwear and shorts at home - strictly no diaper! By doing so, he will be more and more conscious of his body, in this case, his penis (Janson calls it his 'birdie').
3. At least, at every hour, coax/cajole him to sit on the potty. Initially, he will resist your effort to put him on the potty. That's ok. Don't try to push too hard. If he's not ready, don't force it on him. Try again another time. ;)
4. If he does wee in the potty, praise him!

There are many tips/ideas/steps that you can find in the Internet on how to potty train. Don't fall for the one that guarantees potty training in X number of days. I guess every parent wishes to potty train the kid fast but we have to be realistic.

Every child is unique. So, there is no 'hard-and-fast' rule to potty train.
