PETALING JAYA: A couple had a narrow escape after their car caught fire on a road beside the Sprint Highway here.
In
the 11.30pm incident, the couple was heading up the U-turn ramp in
Jalan 16/11 near the Phileo Damansara Business Centre here when their
Perodua Myvi reportedly experienced mechanical problems, causing fire to
break out in the engine compartment.

A hotel worker nearby heard shouts for help and called the fire brigade.
Firefighters
from the SS2 and Taman Tun Dr Ismail fire stations arrived minutes
later and managed to put out the fire by midnight.
However, the car was destroyed.
