Najib vs Sultan Johor: Straight bridge? Crooked bridge?

The Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar has called on the government to reconsider reviving the bridge project to replace the Johor Causeway. The proposal to build an S-shaped bridge, widely dubbed the 'crooked bridge', was mooted by former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad but was scrapped by his successor Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi in 2006. Then, Malaysiakini reported on May 22, 2010, that Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak proposed a new 'straight' bridge linking Johor and Singapore in his first official visit to the island state. In less than a month, Malaysiakini reported - 'Sultan torches Najib's '3rd bridge'.

Guess what?! Latest report by Bernama - 'Bridge To Replace Causeway: We'll Look Into It - Najib'. What's the big deal anyway? After all, Pak Lah scrapped it! So, why need to look into it? ;)
