The expressions of support for air force sergeant N Tharmendran are not lost on his family who have set up a bank account to accept donations to pay for his RM150,000 bail.
Human rights lawyer N Surendran, representing Tharmendran, said that with regards to the donation, the family:
1. Welcomed all the help they could get from the public
2. Was very grateful for the support from Malaysians
3. Was prepared to return any excess funds to donors of large sums
4. Pledged to donate to charity at the end of Tharmendran's trial any balance from the donations

Surendran also said the father was happy because now he felt he could finally see light at the end of the tunnel in getting his son out of remand and the family.
