The Kuala Lumpur High Court today held blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin liable over three articles posted on his Malaysia Todaywebsite three years ago and ruled that they were defamatory of senior lawyer Muhammad Shafee Abdullah.
Shafee (left), when contacted by Malaysiakini, said the decision by the court today goes to prove even without hearing from him in a full trial that Raja Petra did not have a decent defence in his statement of defence. Therefore, it supported his allegation that he had always maintained that Raja Petra was a pathological liar and had no decency in defending himself properly.
Shafee said, "Raja Petra had released the published 'news' in a reckless manner that he has shone many times before in his allegations made against Prime Minister (Najib Abdul Razak) and his wife (Rosmah Mansor).
