Stageless S'gor gov't a sensation at Thaipusam

A major religious event attracts attention for all the wrong reasons as both sides of the political divide continue with their shenanigans.

The Star Online reported 'Najib: Vital to mutually respect the religious beliefs of one another'. Najib preached 'respect' but did he FIRST respect his fellow politicians of opposing belief?

Umno-led BN could not even respect the PR state government when the latter built a stage for the event, only to be forcefully dismantled by the police. The PR state leaders had to make do with a makeshift stage attached to a Selayang Municipal Council truck.

Organising exco, Xavier Jayakumar told Malaysiakini that the disruptions cost the state at least RM120,000, excluding payments to be made to pop stars from India whose appearance had to be cancelled.
