Opposition de-facto chief Anwar Ibrahim said he received a call from US Secretary of State during her short visit to Malaysia today.
Anwar said they had arranged to meet earlier, but could not meet due to a clash in their schedules and Clinton had also apologised for not noticing Wan Azizah at a Islamic university forum in Kuala Lumpur earlier today.
"She was only told of Azizah's presence (at the forum) after the meeting, so she asked me to convey her best wishes and apologies to Azizah for failing to recognise her at the dialogue this morning, because she was surrounded by, whatever," Anwar added.
Anwar, whose second sodomy trial is being monitored by the United States, said ta Pakatan Rakyat campaign dinner at Keranamu Seafood Restaurant at Mile 4, Sandakan, "She was very kind. She called and said she was looking forward to see me and have a discussion. She asked about me and (PKR president Wan) Azizah (Wan Ismail)," he said.
During the telephone conversation, Clinton had also asked him about his on-going court case and they both agreed that the Malaysian government should "respect the rule of law".
