Lembah Pantai parliamentarian Nurul Izzah Anwar showed off her musical skills to raise funds her party division, before putting to auction a guitar she received 13 years ago from her father, PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim for obtaining 8As in her SPM result.
" It is one the very few gifts I received from my father. He seldom gave us things, other than shampoo bottles from the hotels he stayed at," said the 30-year-old politician to laughter from about 500 who attended the fundraising dinner in Bangsar last night.
After Nurul Izzah entertained the audience by strumming a number from her favourite band, Radiohead, on her Alvarez acoustic guitar, it was put to auction and garnered RM12,000 from a bidder who preferred to remain anonymous.
