Anwar Ibrahim's driver of 28 years, Abdullah Sani Said, 51, has claimed that there has been a plot to sabotage the PKR de facto leader's car.
Abdullah Sani said that the Mercedes Benz S350 belonging to an unidentified friend of Anwar's was tampered with, adding that there could be a sinister motive against the politician.
Recounting the mishap, Abdullah Sani said he had been driving Anwar's wife and PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and the Selangor menteri besar's political secretary Faekah Husin, from a party function in Chemor, Perak, late at night on April 19 and they were on the North-South Highway when a lorry overtaking them forced Abdullah Sani to slam on the brakes.
However, the car shook suddenly and there was the sound of an explosion that came from the back of the car.

Lodging a police report today at the Tropicana police station, a short walk from the PKR headquarters in Petaling Jaya, Abdullah Sani said he barely managed to steer the car to the side of the highway despite the very stiff rear tyre on the right and found broken pieces of the brake disc all over the highway, rendering the car completely immobile.
