Nuclear plant approved, operational by 2021. Now try to get public support

In December 2010, government announced plan to build two nuclear plants - the first to be operational by 2021.

On April Fool's Day 2011, Najib said no rush in view of Japan's crisis but on May 04 2011, Energy, Green Technology and Water Minister Peter Chin announced Malaysia has approved a proposal to set up a nuclear power plant which will start operating from 2021. Less than a month later, Najib said Malaysia was keen to look to South Korea to learn from its experiences in developing green technology and small nuclear reactors as a source of energy and would ask Peter to visit South Korea as soon as possible to see how green and nuclear technologies could be used in Malaysia.

This is how '1Malaysia' works. First, approve the plan without the people's approval. Then, engage a PR firm to help build public support. Finally, it will still stick to its original plan despite violent objections from the people!

We should also start to oppose the project seriously.
