Snatch thief stabs woman who resisted
KUALA LUMPUR: An insurance agent was stabbed several times as she tried to stop a snatch thief from grabbing her handbag in Ampang.
Wini
Roswita Abdullah, 38, was stabbed four times in the back during the
incident near Ampang Point Shopping Centre at about 10pm on Tuesday.
The victim was sent to the Ampang Puteri Hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.
Her
husband Suhaimi Mohmod, 41, said Wini was walking towards her car with
her friend after a drink when all of a sudden three men approached them
and tried to grab their handbags.
“Wini tried to stop the robbers and was stabbed by one of them,” he said yesterday.
The robbers managed to grab two handbags before fleeing the scene.
Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Amiruddin Jamaluddin confirmed the incident.
