Figure of the week is 60. I still cannot figure how the 60-billion mini budget will impact me personally.
In tough times like this, the government should give some real hard (and quick!) cash to its citizen. Then, for sure there will be more support from the rakyat in the next general election. ;-)
Why not emulate Taiwan in giving shopping vouchers to its citizens? It is a win-win-win situation. Consumers win, retailers win and the government wins.
Too bad, no shopping vouchers...only tax relief, tax exemption and what not. In the meantime, Najib defends second stimulus package - Malaysiakini. Deputy Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak today slammed down suggestions that the RM60 billion stimulus package which he on Tuesday would not be effective in handling the economic crisis. Hehe. Najib is no Nazir. Too bad... ;) unveiled

You are right. We can't depend on our exports overseas as they are having their own sets of economic problems. We need to be more self sufficient in terms of having to boost the economy by way of increasing the purchase 'power' of local consumers.
