First hurdle - Legitimacy to rule effectively. Chua only garnered 38 percent of the votes with slightly over half of the newly-elected central committee clinging to factions led by his rivals.
Second hurdle - Distribution of resources such as ministerial posts, key party posts and the chairmanship of state liasion committees.
Third hurdle - Port Klang Free Zone scandal.
Fourth hurdle - Repair the damage done to his public image because of his adultery (added to that, oral sex!)
