Home ministry: Only the false parts were blacked out in Economist article

PUTRAJAYA, July 19 — Only the false and misleading parts of The Economist’s article on the Bersih rally were blacked out, the home ministry said today. Abdul Aziz Md Nor, publications control and Quranic text division secretary at the ministry said the identified parts may misinform readers, according to The Star.He said the instructions were passed to the publisher of the British based magazine after consultation with police.
Abdul Aziz added that they received the copy before it hit the newsstands, which is standard procedure.
The article covers the July 9 rally, the actions by police leading to and during the rally which led to the arrest of nearly 1,700 people and its effect on the present Malaysian government.
