Malaysiakini: NO LABU, NO NUMBER YET

The government has confirmed it has vetoed an ambitious plan by budget carrier AirAsia to build a RM1.6 billion airport in Labu, Negri Sembilan. Deputy Prime Minister Najib Razak said the proposal was scrapped because the carrier's partner in the project, conglomerate Sime Darby, refused to contribute RM800 million in construction costs. "If they did not contribute, there is no basis for the project to be considered," he said, according to state news agency Bernama late Sunday. Najib, who is expected to be appointed prime minister next month, said he had received confirmation of Sime Darby's position in "black and white". (Source: Malaysiakini)
From The Malaysian Insider - Najib: No number yet for mini-budget. But it would be certainly bigger and more comprehensive than the last RM7 billion fiscal stimulus package (unveiled on Nov 4), he told Malaysian journalists covering the Special Asean+3 Finance Ministers' Meeting which ended here Sunday.
Again, I'm no economic expert but I think no labu is a good thing as long as no labu means no money going down the drain. Also, the finance minister seems to be slow in decision making in financial matters. Maybe too preoccupied with other 'financial' matters? How many million for Perak, Kedah and Selangor? ;=)

This is a bit different than TF's version. He quoted RM1.6b to build the new Labu LCCT but did not mentioned another RM800m of infrastructure works. Totalling them or revealing them much earlier would have make Labu no brainer to proceed. RM2.4B is definitely more than enough to build the new LCCT at KLIA.
Another twist and turn story.
