Selangor police chief Khalid Abu Bakar was at the Sepang district police headquarters today to give his statement pertaining to the case of car theft suspect Kugan Ananthan who died in a police lock-up on Jan 20. Khalid arrived there at about 3pm and completed giving his statement to two Bukit Aman police officers, ACP Razali Basri and Chief Insp. Rasha Aswadi, half an hour later. "There's nothing to comment. I've given by statement as requested. Let the police carry out their investigation," he said when contacted by Bernama...The incident also sparked off a huge public outcry with various quarters, including political parties holding demonstrations. Following this, the attorney-general re-classified the case as murder and 11 police personnel were reassigned to desk duty. However, nobody has been charged yet. (Source: Malaysiakini)
Don't know why take so long to investigate ah? Death happened at police custody (the safest place to be ;=)) yet until now NOBODY has been charged yet. Indeed, very “Betul, Cepat, Cekap”. Is that still the motto of the police or is it 'Tegas, Adil dan Berhemah' as shown at PDRM site. ;=)
