With the new Perak executive council (exco) line-up to be known tomorrow, Malaysiakini has learnt that an Indian representative would be made the speaker of the now BN-controlled state assembly. According to MIC sources, the person identified for the post is a young Ipoh-based lawyer. It must be noted that there are no Indian elected representatives in the BN camp in Perak. All four MIC candidates lost in the last general election. That would mean that there would not be an Indian exco member under the BN administration in Perak. MIC president S Samy Vellu has approached Perak BN chief Najib Abdul Razak with three potential names for the post of speaker. "MIC has informed Najib that it was important to give a top post in the state for an Indian representative in order to gain the support of the Indian community," said party leaders. Under the recently ousted Pakatan Rakyat government, there were five Indian state representatives, of which one was the speaker of the assembly while another was made an exco member. MIC has certainly stooped so low as to demand a position for the Indians. With no Indian adun, BN is trying desperately to get an Indian PR adun to defect then make him speaker or deputy speaker. Is Najis going to put a gun on the chosen Indian adun's head and force him to cross over? or give him $10 million? What a beggar! If no candidate, then get Zambry to double up as speaker since he is Mamak and can be considered Indian. Malu tersangat!!!
Shame on Semivellu,by getting post for indian is it going to change anything.One thing for sure is he will be puppet for AMNO forever.Pls wake up and do what you suppose to do for Indian community and stop begging people.
Past years Semi and gang hold so many posts and yet failed the Indian community by being puppet to AMNO.Now,what is the beggar trying to prove to Indians by asking for post.Such a silly person that I ever met in my life.
