Abullah suspended. Replaced by Mohd Misbahul, political secretary to Nizar

In another twist to the ongoing saga in Perak, state assembly speaker V Sivakumar tonight suspended the assembly's secretary Abdullah Antong Sabri with immediate effect.

The suspension was meted out due to Abdullah's failure to carry out his duties professionally.

"Further to Abdullah's suspension, I have appointed Mohd Misbahul Munir Masduki as the assembly's secretary," he said.

Mohd Misbahul is the political secretary to ousted Menteri Besar Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin.

Sivakumar also told reporters that the planned emergency assembly sitting will proceed tomorrow.

Abdullah had publicly rebuked Sivakumar's decision to call for the emergency sitting, stating that the sitting was illegal as it did not get the consent of Sultan Azlan Shah of Perak.

The emergency sitting tomorrow will debate on two motions - one to express confidence on Nizar and the other to dissolve the assembly.

Sivakumar also asked the police to give their full cooperation to the state's assemblyperson to attend the emergency sitting.

Meanwhile, Perak DAP chairperson Ngeh Koo Ham said all the 28 Pakatan state representatives will go to the state assembly at 10am tomorrow to attend the emergency sitting.
