Commenting on Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng's remark labelling some Malaysians as pseudo-Malaysians, Jamil Khir (right) said all the people should ensure that they did not toy with the citizenship issue and was reported as saying by Bernama, "Who are we to determine all this? It is improper to toy with the citizenship issue and it should cease at once."
Meanwhile, Lim was flabbergasted that his speech could have been misconstrued by certain Umno politicians as questioning the citizenship of Malaysians and asked everyone to refer to the text of his speech at the Pakatan Convention in Kepala Batas on Sunday.
“The real Malaysians are those ordinary people who are concerned with their economic rights and their future, not only will their be future be easier but so will the future of their children be brighter and better.
“Real Malaysians are those who want a society that is peaceful, calm, and caring as well as one that upholds justice, truth, freedom, welfare and fear of God.
“Those not real Malaysians only know how to sow hatred through the use of extremism, whether on issues of race, gender or religion, who in their greed are willing to indulge in corruption, to sell everything, and to slander and lies.
“Those who indulge in these (matters) are not real Malaysians. They are fake or pseudo-Malaysians.”
