All abuzz over Anwar's 'big announcement' tomorrow
Pakatan Rakyat leader Anwar Ibrahim is to reveal "something big" tomorrow night during a ceramah in Bukit Selambau and that could turn the tide in Pakatan's favour in the three by-elections.
The revelation is related to Najib "directly or indirectly", said PKR elections strategist Saifuddin Nasution at a press conference in Sungai Lalang, Bukit Selambau today.
"The announcement is based on initial reactions we have received concerning Najib's appointment," he added.
Najib was today appointed as the country's new prime minister, despite a strong objection from the opposition.
As a last-minute gesture, the opposition led by Anwar had submitted a petition to the king on April 1 to postpone the appointment pending a full investigation on Najib on his alleged involvement in various matters, including in the murder of Mongolian Altantuya Shaariibuu and the controversial purchase of Scorpene submarines.
Despite repeated questions, Saifuddin refused to reveal anything further, apart from stressing that the surprise announcement by Anwar tomorrow would be big.
"Just wait till tomorrow," he said.
"What is certain is that this announcement will ‘add value' to Pakatan Rakyat and have a big impact in the three by-elections," he added.
He also advised the media not to miss the announcement, which will be made by Anwar during a ceramah in Sungai Lalang tomorrow night. The ceramah will be held at the Dewan Hock Seng at 9pm.
