@ Open house
Chat between an Indian boy in Std 5 and another 'mix' (Portuguese and Chinese) boy in Std 2 . The former goes to a Chinese school and the latter a 'sekolah kebangsaan'.
Std 5 boy: Can you speak Mandarin?
Std 2 boy: No. I go to a Malay school. All are Muslim. Have to speak Malay.
Then, I chatted up with the host's brother, an Indian Muslim.
Don't know how from talking about his brothers, he finally said 1Malaysia, mah. I simply said, 'Malaysia cukup-lah.'
Too bad. I was just too busy eating and enjoying the rendang, nasi himpit, lemang and other delicacies that I didn't get to take any pictures of the open house.
