An opposition leader is wondering when the MACC will win the kind of trust and public support its Indonesian counterpart gets.
The opposition leader is none other than Lim Kit Siang who said that Indonesia was witnessing a phenomenon, where its people are rallying to the support of the Indonesian anti-corruption agency, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
He said the Indonesians respected the KPK but had little faith in the police or the judiciary and believed that the reputation of KPK of putting corrupt officials behind bars - even those in high places, had caused KPK to become the target of the police and the attorney-general's office.
