The Education Ministry cannot decide the fate of the 'racist' Bukit Selambau principal, said Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin, who is also the education minister.
Muhyiddin said as the minister he could not make any decision on government officers with the pay grade of 48 and above and he believed principals are grade 52.
The Pagoh parliamentarian explained, saying, “For officers of such a grade only the disciplinary board of the Public Services Department (PSD) headed by the director-general can take action.”
Muhyiddin added that the ministry had done its own investigation. The results of the investigation had been handed over to the public service commission to consider and mete out their decision.
