A 51-year-old businessman and his 46-year-old wife broke free from their kidnappers on Saturday, two days after they were abducted in front of their house in Sunway Kinrara, near Kuala Lumpur.
Serdang police chief Supt Abd Razak Elias said that the couple was abducted by two men, who posed as policemen from the Shah Alam police station, as they got home from a dinner at 11.55pm last Thursday and claimed the pair had to be taken to the Shah Alam police station for investigations and security screening.
Razak told a news conference here today that as soon as the couple got into a black Perdana, the the bogus policemen handcuffed and blindfolded them. The couple was relieved of their valuables and taken to a secluded hut in Kundang, Gombak, where the kidnappers beat them up and forced them to give their ATM card pin number, from which the kidnappers withdrew all RM2,000 in the account.
