First Lady Rosmah: Constitutionally ok, culturally no ok

The PM waxes on the semantics but dodges whether the term is appropriate for Rosmah. Prime Minister Najib Razak today explained that the term 'First Lady' used to describe his wife Rosmah Mansor does not elevate her to a position higher than the Queen.

I think constitutionally, the term 'First Lady' may not be inappropriate for Rosmah but culturally, yes. More so with the Malay culture of respecting or 'mendaulatkan' the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong, no? I think the term 'First Lady' used is a total disrespect to the Raja Permaisuri Agong.

Read my earlier post: Malaysia is now a 'REPUBLIC' - First Lady is no longer the Raja Permaisuri Agong.
