Gov't appeals against Karpal's sedition acquittal

The government has filed an appeal in the Court of Appeal against the acquittal of DAP leader Karpal Singh for allegedly uttering seditious words against the Perak sultan.

According to Karpal, solicitor-general Idris Harun had on June 15 filed a notice of appeal against High Court judge Azman Abdullah's decision to acquit him of the sedition charge and in a statemenet today, Karpal said, "I will defend myself with all the might and power at my command at the hearing of the appeal."

Not surprised by SG's decision to file a notice of appeal. Absolutely arrogant govt!
