Khairy: Don’t let Najib fight lone battle

Compiled by Ann Tan

SIN Chew Daily reported Barisan Nasional Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin as saying that the people should support Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and not let the Prime Minister fight a lone battle.
“The Government under the leadership of Najib is changing. Those who work with the Prime Minister should reform and not be afraid to change,” he said in an interview.
He said Barisan Youth fully supported the 1Malaysia concept.
“MCA Youth chief Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong can comment on issues affecting the Chinese community and I can give my views on problems faced by the Malays,” he said.
“Sometimes, I can ask Dr Wee to speak for the Malays and I can speak for the Chinese because we represent all the communities.”
Khairy said the Barisan would be in big trouble if they failed to convince the young people, as there were about three million new voters in the next general election.
“In general, young people think that the Barisan is sticking to the old ways, refusing to change and it is not open. What the younger generation wants is a new political culture,” he said.
Khairy said 62% of the youths had yet to decide whether to support Barisan or Pakatan Rakyat in the next election.
