Big fish, small fish. Big-timers. Small-timers. - www.malaysiakini.com

A motion by Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim to discuss the problem of negative foreign investment inflow into Malaysia was rejected by the deputy speaker Ronald Kiandee this morning. "I am rejecting the motion to discuss, although it is specific and of public interest, it is not necessarily an immediate concern...He also wanted the House to discuss the latest United Nations Conference on Trade and Development Worlds Investment Report 2008...He also stressed that there was a high transaction cost in Malaysia, due to endemic bribery and corruption. "It is bribery when its small-timers, but commission when it is leaders," he said. He added that the all-time high crime rates were also reducing the nation's attractiveness. "Why is it difficult for the government to set aside one or two hours to discuss a specific issue affecting our country? (Anwar's motion on economy rejected - Malaysiakini.com)

Good question put forth by Anwar but it is a question not without answers. If the government does not even take heed to a report by United Nations addressing the negative foreign inflow into Malaysia, will it the Opposition's motion? No way. Not even the smallest voice of the rakyat, the man on the street...The rakyat may be the 'ikan bilis' now but never underestimate the power of a multitude of small fish.

For the past 8 months or so, the Speaker and his deputies has considered the followings not urgent:-

- Sacking the CEO of Malaysia;
- Discussing how outflow of FDI affects the rice bowl of Malaysians.

But the below is important:-
- how much the sacked judges are getting
- suspending MPs.

I really do not understand.
