Michael Jackson just got converted. His new religion is Islam. His new name? Mikaeel. Cool huh.
This time, is Michael turning to Islam for peace due to a £4.7m million lawsuit filed by Sheikh Abdulla Bin Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa, son of the King of Bahrain, over an alleged breach of contract? By the way, he used to do yoga to calm his nerves while on trial for child molestation.
One thing for sure, if Michael is now in Malaysia, he can't do yoga. Why? Well, yoga is now declared 'haram' for Muslims. Malaysiakini reported: Yoga - practices that involve physical movements, worshiping and chanting - is officially prohibited ( haram) in Islam, the National Fatwa Council declared today. The decision was expected as the council had previously argued that the ancient practice of yoga contains Hindu ‘religious elements’. I won't comment on this fatwa since it's strictly applicable to Muslims. Interestingly, Singapore and Egypt also have the same fatwa. What about Indonesia, the largest Muslim-majority nation in the world? Strangely so, it does not have one.
