Fire fire at Air Asia! - www.malaysiakini.com

updated 1.25pm A fire has broken out at the Low Cost Carrier Terminal, forcing the evacuation of all passengers and staff, its main tenant AirAsia said today. AirAsia's chief executive officer Tony Fernandes said the blaze, which occurred at a new section currently under construction, had been extinguished and that there were no reports of injuries. "The fire has been put out. I'm proud of how my staff responded quickly to evacuate the people despite the alarm not working. Hopefully we can resume operations in the next one hour," he told AFP. Fernandes said the fire broke out at 11.15am, and confirmed an hour later that it had been extinguished. "There are no reports of injuries, no one is hurt," he said.arlier, an AirAsia representative told AFP the fire broke out at a new section of the Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT) which is currently under construction and due to be opened in the next few months. "Everybody is standing outside the airport," he said, noting that there had been no fire alarm despite people having to be evacuated. (Source: Mkini)
Thankfully, no one is hurt. I wonder if the fire is a sign for anythings especially the fact it broke out just a day after Air Asia announced its plans to shift its operations to its own airport nearby.
