New Era College, which has been embroiled in controversy over its choice of principal, has recorded another black mark with an assault on its senate chairperson. Yap Sin Tian was punched in the face, a few minutes after he began speaking at the ceremony before students, parents and guests. The unidentified assailant, who was wearing a green t-shirt previously worn by staff at a fund-raising event in the college, went up to stage. Everyone assumed he was trying to adjust the microphone, which had given trouble earlier. However, he suddenly punched Yap in the face and left quickly by the backstage exit, evading a few people who gave chase. The man, who is believed to be a graduate of the college, flung off the t-shirt as he fled. Yap, who is also Dong Zong president, sustained a fractured cheekbone. Bleeding from the nose, he was led to a chair while an ambulance was called from the Kajang Specialist Hospital...Interviewed before reporters before he was taken to hospital, Yap described the attacker as “very professional” as the hard punch had landed right on his nose. (Source: New Era College head assaulted) Poor thing! After kena assaulted by a puncher, this guy had to entertain the 'assault' of reporters. Hehe...but reporters just doing their job - HOT NEWS SELL!
