The Barisan Nasional candidate for the Jan 17 Kuala Terengganu by-election is not Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi's man as alleged by certain quarters. Clearing the air on this today, Deputy Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak said the candidate Wan Ahmad Farid Wan Salleh was picked based on a collective decision. "Some say Wan Farid is Abdullah's man... he is not anybody's man because the prime minister and I together chose him. (Source: Malaysiakini - BN candidate not Pak Lah's man, says Najib)
Well, well. Najib stopped short of mentioning Dr M as one of those who alleged that Wan Farid was Pak Lah's man. So, what if he is or he is not Pak Lah's man? Perhaps that's not important anymore as Dr M said in his latest blog posting, "The candidate is known to be snobbish, who does not know how to be friendly with people." According to Mahathir, voters in this by-election are faced with a dilemma as both PAS and Umno are not the best choices. "Maybe the independent candidate (Azharuddin Mamat) will secure more votes than he should," he said. (Source: Mkini)
