PAS’ candidate in the Kuala Terengganu by-election, Abdul Wahid Endut’s campaign took a festive twist yesterday when he presented the Chinese community in Kampung Cina with calligraphy bearing a Chinese New Year message. Abdul Wahid displayed his calligraphy skills by writing four Chinese characters meaning ‘fairness’ and ‘justice’, which he said everybody in the country should hope for. "During Chinese New Year, many will receive ang pow. Some will receive money and some will receive gifts. But remember, the best ang pow you can get are these two words. This is the ang pow we should all fight for," he said. Abdul Wahid claimed that it was his first ever attempt at Chinese calligraphy and by most accounts, his efforts were decent despite the fact that he was aided by pencil marks on the paper...Abdul Wahid, however, displayed less grace when he went on his rounds to meet and greet the Chinese community. The five-term Wakaf Mempelam assemblyperson appeared hurried and barely spoke to the voters. (Source: Mkini)
