Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein claims that several “isolated incidents” involving police nabbing protestors wearing black was not a sign that the authorities were being overzealous in curbing dissent.
Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein claims that several “isolated incidents” involving police nabbing protestors wearing black was not a sign that the authorities were being overzealous in curbing dissent.
“That is how it has been spun (by detractors),” said Hishammuddin, adding that isolated incidents cannot be used to gauge the standards in which the authorities handle crowd control.
“Wearing black is of course not an offence. Don’t think that I’m so naïve… there is more to it than that,” he said, without elaborating on the police’s rationale for the arrests.
He revealed that 3,500 police personnel were deployed to prevent any incidents at the May 7 Perak state assembly sitting but it has been misconstrued as an attempt to nab individuals wearing black.
Not overzealous is an understatement indeed. Men in blue over powering men in black who are obviously unarmed. Is 1Malaysia terrified by 1BlackMalaysia?
