SHAH ALAM, 23 April (Bernama) -- Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ismail Omar, who was admitted to hospital yesterday, is in good condition but needs a good rest as he is suffering from fatigue, said Deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Khalid Abu Bakar.
"He has gone through all the necessary checks yesterday, nothing is wrong with him except that he is exhausted...he's tired," he told reporters after launching "A Day With Police" programme which involved 1,000 Indian youths at the Selangor Police Contingent Headquarters, here Saturday.
"Actually there was no need for Ismail to be warded at all, I was the one who told the doctor to make the boss stay there so that he (Ismail) could rest," he said.
Khalid said that Ismail also had given him a lot of instructions as his mobile phone already received a lot of text messages from his superior.
Ismail was admitted to the Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur yesterday after he was reported to be feeling unwell while attending the monthly assembly of the police force at the Police Headquarters in Bukit Aman.
Asked when he was expected to be discharged, Khalid said: "I think today."
